A tour of Stoke-on-Trent

I made this whilst bored on a summer evening in 2007. My plan was to visit all the towns which make up Stoke-on-Trent in one continuous drive.

Wow, Hanley has changed so much from 2007 to 2014! Houses around Joiner's Square - gone! Car park opposite the old bus station - gone! Botteslow street - completely changed! The whole of Stoke has changed, tbh. But overall, I bet that drive was a bit of dosh - your car must run on water (or forever-lasting diesel). :P

Pretty cool. I've a friend who lives in the Forsbrook area. I'd definitely have to get used to driving on the left ... and watchng for traffic signs on the *side* of the road, instead of hanging over the road. An interesting tour. Thanks!

Thanks for showing this :-) My Grandfather was born in Fegg Hayes in 1915 and to Australia as a lad so it's great to see video of towns that he was in as a boy (although they would have changed heaps)

Tescos used to sell Staffordshire oatcakes many years ago. They quite cheap and very tasty when cook with something like ham and cheese.

Reminds me of me in my van going through the city before I emigrated to Africa .......around 8 yrs ago...thank goodness as standard of living much better here even when hitch hiking ....still teaching the missus though how to cook the perfect oatcake

You should of shown all mosques, curry houses, kebab shops, foreign super markets, and taxi companies. Just think 25yrs ago you could of shown all the pits, pot banks, steelworks and hundreds of chip shops and pubs. Now all you are doing is confirming what a shitty dump Stoke as become, with zero industry, boarded up or derelict pubs, and dead and empty streets.

Thanks, that makes us all feel great here in stoke. Im proud that i live in stoke, and no we're not all chavs, looking like we want to rob you, personaly i hate chavs. There are some lovely places in stoke actually, and alot worse mplaces that you could go to, alot of people dont see the real stoke, only the rundown parts, if you look there is some beautiful greenery etc in stoke. So please dont bad mouth stoke, if you hated it so very much, what was the point in watching the video?

Okay then we'll agree to disagree, yes some parts of stoke are rundown and ugly, but alot arnt, and i still think there are alot worse places in england tbh. Actually even Hanley has greenery, like Hanley forest park for instance, and yes, im not going to lie to you by saying Hanley is a nice place, it is run down in places, there are alot worse places you could go. And why is it daft? I dont see how it is, as i wouldnt want to view a video of a place that i detested.
