having the main gunner being almost completely exposed is such an amazing design flaw lol. also having to climb out and on top of the thing to get into the cockpit is pretty awful if your in a firefight
@nihluxler18906 күн бұрын
The gunner doesn’t have to be there. Most of the AT-TE guns in attack of the clones are remotely operated and there aren’t anyone on the outside while firing.
@aeddonmckaba97972 күн бұрын
The main gunner being exposed? How about the driver's cockpit that's only protected by a flat windscreen at the front? Sure it might be "transpara-steel" or some other non-glass material, but there's now way that's as strong as the rest of the armor. There's a good reason that tanks have small windows/
@nihluxler18902 күн бұрын
@@aeddonmckaba9797 tbf, a lot of modern armored vehicles use large bulletproof window, because windows are ultimately the best way to gauge awareness of your surroundings and none of the technological alternatives are really satisfactory. If we could get away with putting some on tanks (like, for exemple, covered by localized shields that are concentrated around that area ), we would.

This is very cool. I always forget though that main gunner is just out in the open on the back of the mass driver canon. That was a crazy design choice by some artist, that is like a prime sniper target.
@Nitro_Blitzen8 күн бұрын
Few things to note, primarily the back seater in the cockpit is also the one who controls the four, forward mounted nose guns alongside spotting for the gunner. Theres alot of instances where the entire red cockpit glass section hinges or has lower escape and boarding hatches on the bottom of it. Theres a coaxial anti personal blaster ontop of the mass driver. There are different iterations of the rear gunners with some having one directly behind each blaster or having them off to the middle between the two with a window or viewscreen. Overall really well done tough!

This is pretty impressive work. The render looks great and it really feels correct to Star Wars' twisted concept of physics. "Of course we're putting the power generator in the unarmored articulating section of our fighting vehicle." The voice lines are a nice touch. I love the cutaway and walkthrough presentation, as it shows all the functional components in context before taking us through the eyes of a passenger touring it. The only thing I saw that I might suggest for improvement are the animations. They're a little slow and robotic. I'm sure you'll work those kinks out. I hear animation isn't easy. I would adore some Halo content like this. UNSC and Covenant vehicles are pretty whacky, too.

If I could make a few suggestions: you should make more walking + weapon ready animations. It’s pretty jarring seeing multiple copies of the same exact animation on background characters (first shot from 0:00 - 0:04 , again in second panning shot at 0:18 ). Said animation also looks a bit unnatural due to how their legs are moving and the arch they have in their backs. There’s also a lack of recoil when the nearest clone shoots which pulls from the immersion. Adding dust and imperfections to your clone troopers’ armor will make them look look like they belong in the scene. Right now, especially on the commander, they don’t look like they’re battling in a sandy and dusty environment. At 0:03 the nearest clone-as do a few of the ones in the background-shoot red laser from their blasters. Should be blue with the DC-17. AT-TE shoots red lasers from the swivel turrets and the main cannon. These should also be blue. The recoil from the main cannon on the AT-TE looks absent. Having the body of the vehicle rock a bit more would sell the firepower that thing produces. Recommend watching footage of the M1 Abrams or other main battle tanks firing their main gun and seeing how the recoil affects them. Background clone that gets hit at 0:01 looks unnatural just standing in place before the animation plays. Muzzle flash would help show where the lasers are coming from. Your scene is dusty but lacks interactions that make it seem dusty. Having both lasers and muzzle flash illuminate the dust would significantly help sell that aspect of the environment. The scorch mark left from the laser at 0:10 doesn’t match the size of the projectile hitting the AT-TE. Beyond that, this looks pretty good. Keep up the good work. Last thing is just a personal thing but Temuera Morrison will always be the voice of the clones to me. Not a fan of the Dee Bradley Baker voices
