Kabalagala is my home town next to Addis Ababa. I lived there for 7 months before I moved to Canada in 2021. As you mentioned, it appears to be the home town of many Habesha and Somali people as well. Given that you guys have amazing hospitality, it is not a surprise if someone prefers Kampala to Nairobi for immigration. In fact, that is why many Habeshas love Kampala all in all. I never forget other localities such as Kololo, Nakulabi, Naguru, Kibuli, Bunga, Soya, Kasanga, etc. Overall, you never feel alienated in Kampala. You respect everyone and I suppose, you deserve much gratitude for such a noble virtue. I hope, one day, I will be back to visit my former village, Kabalagala, and appreciate the nature of Mignogno once more. Many thanks as you gave me an opportunity to look back part of my life's journey through your youtube. I wish to see a prosperous Uganda.

Habesha people are peaceful, they do not engage in anti community or activities that harm society. Those people you see in the street, they are tired of war and being conscript for life in their country of origin. They stick together because they cannot live without cultural food injera and they are highly social people they enjoy each others company. Most of them I would say they are in transition to western Europe or North America. Thanks for sharing the video.

As Somali-Ethiopian diapora in North America for many decades, I have never been in any other mother african country in my life. Looks the place has lot of dusty red soil like in most of neglected African cities and towns that makes polishing your shoes every few hours especially when it got either too dry or too wet and muddy.. Other than that it seems okay. Wearing khaki dress and safari boots are the best gear for that kind of environ I presume.

@@greatspead1363 Don't get me wrong bro! I went back to Ethiopia and Somalia often in the last 10 years and I can feel the atmospher of welcoming communal aspect , easy going life and and all that. I completely agree with and there is nothing like homestead home. But at same time, I desperate when I see lot of negligence and wrong headed or lack of public survices due to curruption, incompetence, dereliction of duty, etc. starting from local admin to national institutions everywhere like healthcare, education, roads and public tranport and so on. It seems as if things sliding back to 20 and 30 years .The reason I mention this is in that context. Mind you, I read from somewhere that Uganda was way ahead developmentally and every other socio-economic index than, for example Malaysia or South Korea, in 1960s when both were coming from the yoke of colonialism scrounge, but today they are not even close or comparable. One might wonder what went wrong.
@ritamukamahoro4073
@ritamukamahoro4073 7 ай бұрын
You are asking what went wrong??? Very simple The number of wars we have faced you can not expect development like the 2 countries you are comparing us with. Look at Kenya and Tanzania who have never faced wars since their independence they are now far ahead. Despite the challenges we have the biggest influx of people from all over and that isn’t an easy task. Tanzania doesn’t allow such. So instead give back to Ug by praying for it.

As long as they do not get involved in government politics or have right to vote in the Uganda because no foreigner can do the same in their countries. Our ancestors where so lenient and welcoming to the people from Rwanda. Look where that got us, natives are becoming squatters in their own country. bro why you are lying iam somali the people from uganda in somali are 2 groups those who work for the african union peace keepers or well educated people who do jobs that somalis can not do because somalia have been in war for 34 years and education system clapsed so that we needed kenyan and uganda people and most of them are in either in mogadishu or somaliland and puntland state in somalia. somalis in uganda come for sponsorship to western countries or education or medical reason very few for business

In 1972, the government implemented a policy that resulted in the departure of the South Asian community from the country. They were given a 90-day period to vacate the country, leaving behind their properties and financial assets. Now, East Africans should pose the question of what's gonna happen once the current president kicks the bucket.

@Samuel, let me ask you something, if things are good in Ethiopia for Ethiopians why are they all over? I dont have to remind you Ethiopians are the most complained about in South Africa...Ethiopian birr is weaker than Eritrean nakfa with the global currency so what is the point you are trying to make?..As we speak the 4 African countries whose economy's are in big decline in Africa are Ghana, Ethiopia, South Africa and Tunisia...it is ok to accept Ethiopia isnt doing well, there is nothing wrong to go to neighboring country to work and do business...

Eritreans are the most unlucky. After 30 years of war to achieve freedom and to live in their own country proudly they ended up with a sadistic dictator or the worst kind. At least some dictators give you a little freedom to work and prosper provided you don't interfere with their politics. The Eritrean junta doesn't allow you to be anything but a government slave. The country is a place for old people and for those who live outside of the country but are members of the cult of the one-man dictator. The young are running away to wherever they can including Uganda

W. T. F... Ethiopia 🇪🇹 GDP in 2024 is $ 205 billion.. How come Ethiopias🇪🇹 go to Uganda 🇺🇬 which is poor country with GDP of $50 billion.... Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is 3 times richer than Uganda 🇺🇬.....Ethiopias 🇪🇹 econmy is naw double of that of kenya 🇰🇪 let alone Uganda 🇺🇬.... Kenya 🇰🇪 GDP $104billon...... So the migrates in Uganda 🇺🇬 are from very poor countrys like eritrea and Somalia.. Not from Ethiopia 🇪🇹

As Eritrean, we migrate coz both politica andl economic reason but more of the first than the later. We never ever wished in a million years we would want to leave our mother country to live and try to survive and to fit in a foreigne land. We would never do that if we had a choice.
