Oh the good old days, anyone else remember that moment when the aeroplane ride was more exciting than the actual holiday because you’d know that you’d be able to play a full mario kart ds lobby with all the other people on the plane that also brought their ds’s. To this day, one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life is going onto pictochat on a plane a few years after mario kart ds’s release, which was basically the local chat application on the ds where you would ask who wants to play mario kart... and no one joined.

Mario Kart Ds was the first game I ever owned. I remember my older cousin gave me his old Ds lite and Mariokart. I'm sure i clocked in over 300 hours on that game in one year. Eventually, my Ds lite broke and my parents got me a Dsi XL for Christmas. Even though I had many more games to play, Mariokart is the only one that i truly had a connection with. Mariokart is a work of art and I will never outgrow it.

Hey @jschlatt, make sure to save your game files to the computer and replace the battery on your cartridge. I've made the mistake of losing the save on my 20 year old games multiple times over just because the damn battery died. Learn from my mistakes

I know this is an old comment, but I just thought I'd mention for anyone still reading. Very few GBA games have a save battery, and as far as I know, Mario Kart Super Circuit is not one of them. It's still a good idea to back up your save file, but it'll most likely be fine even if you don't.

There aren't any batteries inside Mario Kart super circuit, batteries were much more common on Game Boy / Game boy Color games

@hahaae321 I use Submodule's GB01, which is fairly affordable. However, it actually _removes_ my saves for some GBC games, so until that gets fixed I wouldn't rely on it for battery-powered games. However, as others have said, Super Circuit (and most GBA games) don't have battery-powered saves, so I think it is very unlikely that you will have an issue there. But still, you can't have ghosts on SNES tracks. Edit: I haven't heard from their support in days. I'd recommend not buying it for now, they might have trouble (which would be understandable if more people who bought it are losing their GBC saves).

My first console was the Nintendo DS. It was the winter of 2007, and my older brother was playing Mario Kart DS. So I asked if I could play and he was hesitant to let me because of my young age and lack of experience, but within a year, I was even better then him. On Christmas 2009, I got Mario Kart Wii, and I thought it was the best game I had ever played. And for Christmas 2011 and 2014, I got Mario Kart 7 and 8 respectively. And as I got older, I got better. Then in March 2016, when I turned 12, I decided to get Mario Kart Double Dash, and I sucked at it. It was the most difficult Mario Kart game I had ever played. But I didn’t stop trying and I got better at it. I have many nostalgic memories from the Mario Kart franchise, too many to go into, and it’s some of the few good memories I actually have with my brother, because we don’t get on too much, but Mario Kart was the thing that held us together and actually made us brothers. So thanks for the memories Nintendo. And thanks for letting me destroy all of my friends in co-op on Mario Kart Wii, I appreciate it.
