I feel privileged to own a custom NULA in 7mm-08 with Melvin's 25th anniversary signed action. It's a sub moa gun as you'd expect. It was a pleasure working with him. RIP

I know Forbes used Douglas barrels, also from West Virginia. If I'm not mistaken Wilson Combat bought Forbes not long ago.

Thanks for do this ,I seen a add in a hunting magazine when I was in high school in texas, I fell in love with the rifles ,I own a model 24 and I love it, plus my father's family are from west Virginia so it makes it little special,!

Great Tribute, it really highlights a great innovator and his story in the hunting industry. Hopefully the new Nula brand rendition of the Ultralight Arms does justice to his legacy.

Yes…great tribute. I had no idea he had passed. I had the pleasure of having several phone conversations with him and own two of his Model 20s. True art and genius in the gun world and a true gentleman as well. RIP

I have # 1 of first100 made ula 22 rimfire. I regret not ever getting a centerfire rifle from him.

What a terrific Homily-Like tribute delivered with Jimmy Stewart-Esque honesty. I became aware of Melvin Forbes through the writings of John Barsness (sp) Rifle/Handloader. Can’t complement you enough on your videos, really enjoy them. Perhaps it is the North American, do it yourself honesty that I admire in all your adventures. While sharing a genuine love of family and God’s majestic wilderness through fine stewardship. This can’t be faked folks. Bravo!

I was aware of the Forbes rifles and their innovations, but regrettably just didnt get into them.😢. I did pick up an Forbes left hand 375h&h but just havent put it to work. I just wish my Forbes was an 30-06 as it would be lighter and far more useful and economical.

I sent for his brochure in 84 or 85 the price then was 1300.00$ I could not afford it at the time. I ended up buying a Remington Model Seven in 7MM-08. It worked out but I always regretted not buying his rifle. 🥲
