Richie was a very good friend of mine. He built his truck right before mine was being built. We would meet up here in MA and talk trucks. We use to meet up at truck shows in 2005 - 2006. My truck looked so small next to his. We use to laugh. He use to guide me on custom things to do to my truck. Spent time with him up here in MA right before he died. It was cold out and we were out doing lights (blue leds) in Walmart parking lot. Those were the last pics I have of me and Richie. Things were rough and tried to help. It was so hard watching him dying inside. RIP Richie. You will always bring tears to my eyes and I will always love you my friend.

Wow!!! Never had the honor to meet this GOD of bad ass trucks but saw this video and it broke me and I cried.only those who aspired to build a rig like his would understand.my 2nd truck was a black Pete, had a old green Pete and owned my own spread axle east covers wagon..worked for Long Haul Trucking out of Albertville MN.a few guys there had 300" flattops I knew then that was my dream. The owner John Daniel helped me get the loan while I was on the road in FL when I found out.while I made my way back to MN the shop put on my texas bumper,my visor and straight pipes.when I got to the yard.THERE IT WAS!! I fell to my knees.i lived in and loved my Pete for 15yrs and 2million miles &48 states then set down in OH and got michigan train.seeing this video made me think of the few men and dearest friends who all shared the life of not just driving a truck but doing it in the BADDEST rigs on earth.the ones you see coming and turn your head around to watch them pass and think OMG that was the coolest thing I've ever seen.god bless you driver and the friends and family that miss you.

I'm not a fan of trucks with chicken lights and chrome, I prefer the well maintained solid work truck thing myself, but that being said. I really feel for this poor guy.I've been there myself taking care of a sick parent, and trying to run a business, doing everything you can to keep things together. It just gets to be too much,even though you're trying to do the right thing you can break you, it can break the best of man. I'm so sorry this guy's life had to end the way it did
@TheRoadhammer3793 жыл бұрын
I'd say Richies truck was pretty devoid of chrome. That truck worked harder than you will ever know. He was delivering loads in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Hunts Point, Boston, New Haven... you know, places that weren't designed for semi trucks. The man had skill and would run circles around these warm bodies in a truck nowadays.
@joecummings12603 жыл бұрын
@@TheRoadhammer379 yeah I know the kind of places you mean, I spent my career based out of Philadelphia and running North Jersey and New York City mostly flatbed and RGN, but I've been to most of those places you mentioned, and yeah they're tight, places not really designed for the size of modern trucks
