The original Spirit was an animated masterpiece and Spirit 2002 was also a metaphor for colonization, and Spirit and Little Creek were equals in their fight to get away from it. And now the new story is quite literally a colonizer girl, in the fact her father is a railway owner. Completely disregarding and contradicting the original meaning And she has this metaphor for the west bowing to her and letting her ride him around like a four legged vehicle He even abandons his herd in favour of her in a few episodes from what I've heard Spirit riding free was just DreamWorks way of making a Quick buck

That is literally the only reasonable opinion on Riding Free I've seen. You actually explain why you didn't like it and you have a very fair point. Unlike others, I find that they only have bad excuses. The series itself on it's own isn't bad though, I watched the entirety of it and it's fine. Some good lessons for kids, some adventures, nothing too bad. But with the other stuff you said I think I may agree with. However, I can say Spirit Jr did not abandon his herd. He visited them whenever he could and tried to keep them safe if they were in danger. He just wandered off a lot to help Lucky. And honestly, it's not that strange for a wild stallion. The mares are just as capable of leading. The most dominant mare is usually the one who moves the others. Stallions are mostly there to breed, defend from other stallions that would steal the mares, and I've read that they stay at the back when the herd travels to keep an eye on everyone to make sure they don't trail behind. Besides, there was another stallion in the herd that got competitive with Spirit Jr, he could watch over them while he was away.

@@iclynnx yeah like if the original didn't exist Spirit riding free would actually be a pretty good series and on its own it is. and yeah wasn't that stallions name Smokey or Stormy? so yeah its a pretty good show other than how unrealistic it can be lol and i don't mean the "special Bond" I mean like how English saddles are a two piece, they jump western, do dressage western sometimes, there is a racing academy for 12 year old girls that race western, they try to break a yearling, and the animators were too lazy to make bits lol but tbh a world gone bitless would be pretty sweet xD

@@ulisesmarvels Yeah, I cringed at the episode when they tried to train Governor, the colt. Animators didn't even bother to make him look larger. And the adults thought it was a good idea to let the children train him. They thought Snips (Abigail's little brother) was a good weight to ride Governor. Like, what? Governor was far from mentally ready to be ridden and he was far too little. That episode was clearly written by city folk. Bunch of ignorant people. Such a shame, because Dreamworks have worked on War Horse as well as Spirit. Two good, realistic horse movies, and suddenly they allowed _that_ to make it's way into a series for children. It's not exactly a healthy thing to teach kids.

This was SO beautifully done. I'm absolutely blown away at how well you were able to replicate parts of the film. Wow, you should be incredibly proud of yourself for creating this. It is and will always be my favourite movie of all time. And RDR2 will most likely always be my favourite game.

Spirit absolutely blew me away as a kid, and I lost count of how many times I watched it. To this day it remains one of my favorite animated movies, and my second favorite Dreamworks movie (can't beat Prince of Egypt) but it warms my heart to see so many people who love this film. This absolutely melts my heart. I am so touched by your beautiful cover of the main theme. This means a lot to me. As a little girl, i was obsessed with horses. And we just so happened to have this movie on disk. I must have watched that movie over a thousand times, and even now, years later, out of my horse phase, i still feel a connection to that masterpiece. So much so, that i still hear that opening monologue play in my head from time to time, and then the gorgeous opening theme. Almost all the songs i know by heart, and i still sing them out loud today. This movie may be older than me, but is my childhood. And always will be. This was very beautiful and made me laugh because in my rdr2 play through I was riding the buckskin standard that I called Spirit. I did have the horse you pick for spirit at first then I went to a palomino dapple with black hair to finally the buckskin. You did a amazing job. Excited for more videos.

Thank you for sharing this, I watched Spirit with my youngest son and fell in love with him. I love horses and this was always one of my favorite animated movies.
