Saw this when it came out on HBO. Moves me to this day. I lost my cousin in Vietnam. I remember the two escorts that brought him home. Everyone should see this.

My husband came home this way from Mogadishu, Somalia. His teammate, & best man at our wedding, met him in Dover, MD and brought him back to Ft. Bragg. This made me break down & cry so hard. I have to see this movie, even though it's so heartwrenching.

this was one of Kevin Bacon's best movie roles. I seen this movie twice and cried more the second time. I would like to see it again. I also like the way They salute the Fallen Heroes.

I saw Taking Chance shortly after it came out probably in 2009 This movie absolutely gutted me. I had to pause it SO many times because I was crying so hard (I ended up using a whole box of kleenex). It was so completely raw, powerful and showed a side to the reality of war I had never seen. Taking Chance impacted me in a way no movie has, also given the fact I am only a few months younger than Chance and was born/raised here in Wyoming it hit closer to home. I haven't watched Taken Chance in probably a good 5 years or more I didn't expect this video to me but it took my breath away and here I am sobbing again. Thank you will never be enough but thank you to each and every person who is military, veterans and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. God bless and Godspeed.

That just ripped my heart out! I am going to have to see this movie. Respect for all of our men and women in our armed services. May they all come home safely. May the Good Lord comfort and be with the families and brothers and sisters of those that have given the ultimate sacrifice or that have been injured or scarred during their service to our Country.

After several tours in Iraq. I became a Casualty Notification Officer/ Casualty Assistant Officer in the Army . It was the highest Honor I believe one can do for a fallen Soldier. It was also the hardest thing I ever had to do while I was active duty. Its been a few yrs now since I retired but I still wonder about the families. I try to put it all behind me , I mean I am proud for my service but some memories are painful. Anyways , good movie and thanks for sharing .

Fantastic movie, shows the respect, honor & love americans have for our boys in the military. As much as this movie moved me I could hardly get my gf, sister or mother to even view it. Seems alot of people don't care to revisit painful events in their lives, Most notably is footage from the day the twin towers fell. I think America needs to start each day with a clip of the burning towers to be reminded what the islamic radicals are capable of. We need to open our eyes or they'll close them 4 us

Poem: America’s Gallant Soldiers By: David O. Melton America’s gallant soldiers Serve to keep America free, And some pay freedom’s highest cost And die protecting you and me These valiant men and women Whose mortal bodies now lay still, In death earned the greatest honor Herald by a lone bugler’s skill Because they preserve our nation Chosen honor guards stand abreast, While a lone bugle sounds out taps For each great soldier laid to rest Yet far greater than all these things Beyond the stones of marble white, Behold God’s tribute of honor That’s shining eternally bright Greater love has no one than this, To lay down one’s life for one’s friends, This honor is proclaimed by God Over everything it transcends Now honor our gallant soldiers Who under freedom’s banner fall, Soldiers who had to leave loved ones And made sacrifices for all Uplift their hurt and grieving child Left to long suffer and travail, Each soldier’s widow and orphan Greatly needs our help to prevail Let our nation and our people Honor all sacrifices made, Now honor our gallant soldiers And our sacred freedoms they saved Thq movie "Taking Chance" was one of my inspirations to write this poem. David O. Melton
