A trilby hat from Notting Hill, an 18th century mural and a chicken pie that makes itself | Vlog 6

In this week's vlog I visit Sherborne House (incorrectly referred to as The Sherborne Arts Centre throughout the duration of the video) where I marvel at its beautiful hallway mural, painted by Sir James Thornhill, (the ladies' loos are not too shabby either..)
In celebration of my third daughter coming to stay, I cook a chicken pie which, as a Christmas by-product, requires zero work, and then go on a plant hunt after unintentionally mutilating a beloved houseplant belonging to my wonderful neighbour.
On the only day of sunshine, I take you to Hauser & Wirth for a sneak peak of the whole shebang, including Durslade Farm Shop, Da Costa, and Roth Bar - it's a fleeting visit but we will return. The giant bronze sculpture we stop to admire is 'Ampersand' by William Kentridge.
I give you a tiny glimpse of my garden where tulips are beginning to emerge, and Quincy behaves weirdly.

Having agreed to water my friends MANY window boxes of geraniums whilst she was away for 2 wks....my menopausal brain completely forgot. I remembered a few days before her return. It was the "mother of all heatwaves" during those 2 wks, and the geraniums were beyond saving. So I rushed about and bought all new geraniums--ripped out the withered ones, put the lovely new ones in with copious amounts of water. Only to realize all those I had pulled out were white and I had replaced them with pink:( She was thrilled when she got home that all her plants not only survived but looked great. Thankfully she is the same age as I am, we have both gone daft at the same rate--and she forgot what colour she had planted:). All's well that ends well--hope you were able to get everything "tickety boo" for your neighbour!

I am notorious in my house to move things around, constantly shuffling piles but I get so tired of looking at all of it! So of course someone is always asking me if I saw some object they are looking for and of course I don’t recall at all where I put it. What I find works for me is moving from room to room starting with the front door and I think, could it be in this room? By the time I go through the house I pin point it down to maybe 3 to 4 places. it usually works. I also always look in coat pockets, purses and pants pockets. I am currently on the hunt for three objects. It’s never ending. Good luck on finding the key and the plant!

Thank you : ) Another enjoyable video. Yes, I too had a key issue (in the past) and solved it by putting a small, but nice, bowl on my kitchen bench. About the unexpected card you received, I could see it affected you: which I’m sorry to hear/see. I know you didn’t ask for advice, but thought I’d comment anyway (hope this is okay) based on my own life experience. I think, to help process what happened, that writing down/journaling all your thoughts and feelings/emotions that came up for you after receiving/reading the card would help, and also to write down why you and he parted ways in the first place. I’m currently at a stage in my life (which I suppose is better late than never) learning about boundaries. I’ve only recently learned that having a strong sense of self and being aware of one’s feelings (and how it shows up in our body and thoughts/thinking) impacts boundaries. We are then less manipulated (even by a man’s charm : ) Anyway, I hope you are okay. It’s wonderful you’ll have one of your daughters with you for a while. The chicken pie looked delicious : ) Hope the plant situation turned out okay and you found the key. Look forward to your next video 🌱🪴
