Olay was Ulay, Cif was Jif, I was 8, and pestered my mum for a bottle of that Once stuff, having been reeled in by the ad! It came in 2 colours (orange and green) in a very modern looking ribbed clear plastic bottle, which you had to shake to mix the formula, which looked like a space-age oil and water preparation. I think I spent most of the 1980s mesmerised by how cool everything looked and forcing my parents to buy it all for me. Those were the days...😎

One of my favourite things to do is phone all the old companies advertised and pretend I’m a time traveller and just seen their 1986 advert… it’s quite fun.. however when you ring up Bristol Hippodrome to book tickets for 1986’s Singin’ in the Rain production but they proceed to take my booking because Spring 2022’s show is.. yep you guessed it.. Singin’ in the Rain LOL!!!
