Funny, I know the guy that owns that first pontoon. I also suggested he not get it, but not my decision. He does love it, so that's all that matters! Hopefully they don't fix those docks - I keep my boat there and I don't want my rates to go up 😁

Hi Justin, new to watching your videos, but they're really useful thankyou. I'm looking at buying either a new Sea Ray SLX280 OB or a new Regal LX9. Regal with twin Yamaha F250 and the Sea Ray with twin Merc 250 Verado. I see you have a huge amount of experience with both, so... I'm looking for a boat with good sea keeping in choppy waters for an Australian 150 mile circumference salt water bay and would love to hear your thoughts on the two hulls and also on the comparison between the two motor manufacturers. Thank you for your videos, as a lapsed electrical/electronic engineer I find them so useful.

First off. Thank you. I appreciate that. I would say the boats are kinda apples to apples. They are both about the same mid level quality as far as fit and finish. Both good boats but the Sea Ray will have a little better ride due to the hull design. Yamaha is better than Mercury as far as reliability but Mercury will give you more power. It would be a toss up really. I would test both and see what you like. It would be perfect if you could put the Yamaha on the Sea Ray. 😋

I had a boat with a slight "lean" to it, not sure why, didn't seem to impact anything performance wise but it was like that when I bought it. What do you think would cause a lean (or at least the Wellcraft in the video)?

Could be a lot of things. Saturated hull or water in the bilge or just how it always has been. Lol.
