Fine diagnosis. I like the Sea Ray 320 but dislike the half-height windshield. I would prefer it with outboards.

Hey Justin, we have a 2017 Sea Ray 240 SDX and we keep it clean like that. Take care of a Sea Ray and it will look clean, sharp and modern years later (and hold its value). But we're in Canada, so it's in storage seven months of the year lol.

Speaking of Sea Ray. Would you know who fixes EIM pads? I have the 06 280. My port pad is not working. It just blinks. I commented before, the boat is called Kerri Anne. Awesome job as always.

I talked to my parts department and they said the company that made the pads is out of business. The only way to do it is upgrade the whole system to what they have now. You can call the parts department at the St Pete Marine Max and ask for Ellison. He knows all about what needs to be done to upgrade the system.

Hi Justin, When you troubleshot the trim pump, you put power to the control side of the solenoid and the pump motor ran. Wouldn't that mean the 110 amp fuse is working and the 20 amp fuse, switch or wiring is where the problem is? What am I missing?

You can try it with the 110 amp fuse and then without it. If it works the same both times then you are correct. It is something else like the switch or wiring.

That's weird, everytime I drop something it lands in the same spot. Just curious if you tell or show the customer how to clean the strainers.

Hey Justin, sorry I'm commenting on the wrong video, but I can't find the video where you replaced a dometic thermostat on a boat. On my boat, the a/c fan used to run constantly to cycle the air which I liked, now it only runs when the heat or a/c are running. Switching fan modes does nothing. Would this be a controller issue or an issue with the a/c unit itself? Any advice is appreciated!

That sounds like the controller is not sending the signal. I would replace that first before going into the A/C unit.

Hey Justin, I got a question buddy I got a 2020 Yamaha 425hp at idle I got this overheat warning light, came on saying, overheat, clean on clog inlet But the minute I give it a little throttle while I’m leaving the marina It goes away it’s only at idle. Any idea you think it could be maybe it’s the thermostat

I would pull the lower unit and look at the water pump first. It has a metal impeller and a rubber impeller. If the rubber one gets worn or damaged it will overheat at idle. You can also pull the thermostats but if it cools down above idle I wouldn't say it's the thermostats. Sounds like they are working.

Depending on if you are mechanically inclined I would either go to school for it or find a local dealership that will train you.

I would say if you are mechanically inclined then find a dealership to train you. If you are starting from scratch then go to the nearest marine mechanic school. You learn the most just being in the field. Like most jobs. Good question.
