This was sad as hell. It doesn't just represent the death of the childhoods of those who grew up with Toys R Us, nor does it just represent the death of a toystore chain, but it represents a major shift in our society. Whether that shift is good or bad is still to be decided, but I will forever consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a era before computers and smart phones, playing with my big bin of Ninja Turtles toys on my bedroom floor and being in awe of the rows of plastic packages of countless action figures and toys on those occasions I got to go to Toys R Us. Great video.

hey dude. I know how you feel. I was just shopping at target with my cousin who is 6, and seeing some of the things they’re selling and forcing into the brains of kids her age was.... ugh. Remember when that trip to toys R us was the highlight of the month? Remember when you didn’t know what LOL meant? Ugh.... she’s just been completely... well.... brainwashed by all this stuff, and it’s sickening. I know what you mean.

I think something people need to understand is that things change and that though something may be different that doesnt mean it is inherently bad. And i have no doubt that when a majority of people became literate parents were complaining that kids were just stuck inside reading instead of playing outside, the older generation has been badmouthing what the younger generation does for generations.

I honestly only knew Toys R Us from western advertisements. We didn't have this chain where I live. It opened maybe two years ago or so in the town I'm at. We probably had it in the capital and some bigger cities though.

As someone who worked there as a childhood dream job, I have to say that this is an amazing tribute, I know not a lot of people who worked for the company have seen this, but believe me when I say thank you, this is a perfect send off to all those wonderful memories made with what I considered to be my family.
