I really enjoyed this, really well-written and the twist at the end is just great, unlike most stories where it was forced. The performers really did well for this story and honestly, it almost has that 80's horror movie vibe to it especially with the rock music at the end, haha. I'd like to see this adapted into a short film, it would fit with one of those anthology horror films in my opinion :)

92 Cents a gallon?! Dude, that 8 dollars will go further than you think. Even if the coffee was a dollar, you'd still have enough to get 7 full gallons of gas. Which, even for my Explorer, is damn near a full tank. I can only _imagine_ how it'd be for a LeBaron. Sure, you'd have to forego the pie, but hey...such is life.
@Mikaylee
@Mikaylee 9 жыл бұрын
Shawnee Longbow Perhaps this story took place in the late '70s or early '80s. One of the characters talk about being in Vietnam, and no one seems to have cell phones. That would explain why the gas was so cheap.
@5TailFox
@5TailFox 9 жыл бұрын
Even so. Eight dollars goes further than _He_ was thinkin' it would. As a person born in '78, I can actually remember when gas was that cheap. And at that rate, a good five or six dollars would be enough to damn near fill up your car.
@NaifuWereWaifu
@NaifuWereWaifu 7 жыл бұрын
Shawnee Longbow no it doesn't. Not in that time anyways. To us now that's $6 a gallon compartment to $2.75-$3.43 a gallon. and since they didn't get paid like it's either that would be half his paycheck right there. Also call then $25 got you food for a month.
@5TailFox
@5TailFox 7 жыл бұрын
Aiden MercyKill What the hell are you even talkin' about?! You're overthinking it. And worse yet, you're overthinking it incorrectly. 100 pennies has *always* equalled a dollar. Always. If you've got a full 8 dollars in your pocket, and 1 gallon of gas doesn't even cost a full dollar, you tell me how many gallons of gas you can get with that 8 dollars, dumbass. Then subtract 1 for the coffee, and tell me whether it's enough to damn near fill up a teeny-ass LeBaron or not. Come on, people. Smh..

A good reminder that we are our worst enemies at times, worse than the worst thing our imaginative brains could ever come up with. A good reminder that the human rational brain, once gripped with the fear of the unknown and possessed with the instinct to survive, is more dangerous than the mythos all around us. Awesome story :) thanks. Keep it up. I'm a fan now

SunScales That doesn't explain why one of the creatures crouched down on all fours in an attack position and made growling and snarling noises *before* Paul started firing the gun. It's pretty common knowledge that certain animals go into a preditory-type position when they're being territorial, defending themselves, or about to pounce on a potential meal. The ending feels more like a tacked on attempt twist for a sympathetic angle, when it could've made for a good, disturbing "creature is still out there lurking" ending.

the story was very good. I love the Radio Theatre style. I enjoyed it . I have been listening too these story's from everyone . I found you are the best I have heard , I am trying to set my self up to do these types of story's someday , if I can sound as half as good as you , that would be great. maybe someday soon as I find everything I need to do the show. but you make it hard . you sound so good. take care.
