Hello! Great POV video! I’ve been curious but only stay on Placencia 3 times far - nowhere else. How to get to Caye Caulker (& what cost?) from Placencia?

A two stop flight about 4hrs from Placencia to Caye Caulker will cost around US$360 one way. Or you can get a 3hrs bus drive to Belize City and get on 1hrs water taxi. With the bus I know someone who got a lift to Dangriga and then took a public bus from Dangriga to Belize city and then a taxi to the water taxi station. Or you can get a shuttle. There are numerous means to get there depending on your budget. I hope this helps.

My entire family will be visiting caye caulker and ambergris in March. About 20 ppl including young children and grandparents. My grandma had a hip replacement a couple months ago. However both grandparents are really active and have a lot of energy. What do you think about the area for them? Is it too much? Not for them? Age wise and ability wise? I’m also concerned about the water taxi trip there with the bumping on the water might hurt her. I also want a chill time but with decent nightlife, nice beaches and good food and shops within walking distance. Any advice?

Hello Johnny, thanks for watching and thanks for reaching out. Wow! This will be a good trip. The journey on the water taxi is not bumpy at all. Movement is minimal when sat in a middle seat. The visit to Caye Caulker will be less painful as it takes less time to reach and the island being less busy and everything close together making the control of large crowd easier. Now with Ambergris Caye, you will have to spend approximately US$35 per day on a golf kart with the capacity of carrying 5 people including the driver (there are ones with higher capacity but never used by myself). Riding on the road can be a bit bumpy depending on how fast you drive...but more vibrant and more things to do (with a vibrant nightlife). You will have to book before going to bars and nightclubs). However, you can find a hotel close to the centre of San Pedro to minimize movement for the older cohorts. Maybe one person to walk and chill with them while the young ones go wild. San Pedro is an extra hour on top of the 30mins to reach Caye Caulker. A lot of information to take in but I hope this is helpful. Please message me on Instagram @mickey_agyei for more information.
