This tutorial is all about using an anchor point to enable you to make fabric twine quicker and easier. It doesn't take long to learn and soon you'll be turning all your long scraps of fabric into beautiful and colourful cloth twine for use in all sorts of different ways.
I'll link the video that I first showed this method. It wasn't easy to just go back to it though, which is why I've made this stand alone tutorial.
If you enjoy this and would like to help support my channel I have a ko-fi page here. There's no pressure either way though.

Baffles me how it doesn't just come untwisted being as it's only two strands as opposed to a braid of three! :). Great video, thanks much.
@marionsworld24
@marionsworld24 5 ай бұрын
It's because both strands are twisted the same way...so they end up twisting around each other.. Have a look at some garden string.. it's the same process exactly. Or..the same as when your thread twists up whilst you're stitching. You have to keep untwisting your thread to keep it smooth. 🙂

I get so many compliments on it from all ages and sorts of people. I am always looking for projects to use my twine yarn for. I like your idea of using it as a necklace - I have some sari silk yarn and a few lovely lampwork beads that need to come out into the world. And, I'm looking forward to watching your shoes video. I learned a method for yarn where you twist the strands opposite each other so both inward or both outward and they automatically twist around each other. This was over 40 years ago at a 17th century living history museum. I don't remember the fibre, wool, linen or other. We tied it to something across the room.

I just moved a bunch of unwanted fabric to a pile for the Free Table at guild BUT perhaps it needs to be made into twine! Thanks for the video. I watched you do this before, but had forgotten about it. My brain is a sieve.

I love this! Thank you!! If your creative juices think of another bird sculpture, will you make us a tutorial of a similar project as your messenger crow? He is absolutely gorgeous- I would LOVE to see how you made him! 💕♥️💕

Hi, I was suprised to see a new video tonight, I wasn't expecting 🙂I have tried to make some a few weeks ago, it went well to begin with, then when I did the join, it wasn't going so well, I think I changed direction on one twist 🤔 I did lemon and pink my Daughter said it reminds her of those marshmallow flump twists ☺ I will try your join method and the water trick with the next one, I used my kitchen door handle, as I don't have a ham, but strangely enough, I was looking for sawdust in a pet shop a few weeks ago, to attempt a ham, so it really would be helpful to see you make one hehe thanks Marion, have a lovely, hopefully sunny 🌞🤞 weekend 🤗🌈🌱

I was making myself a big batch of twine for a project and thought I should just make the tutorial. It will be easier to find now that it is by itself instead of within the fabric beads video.... The water really helps a lot. Door handle is definitely a good idea. Try your big toe!

@marionsworld24 I'm glad you did, although obviously I have seen all your videos, 🤓 including the nettle and bead ones haha 😁 Yes, I have used my feet in many things when I needed extra hands 🦶🖐 I had to do walking exercises as a kid, amd my homework was writing with them 🦶📝 🤗🌈🌱🥰
