A Tutorial on "Manipulating" Echo Substats on Wuthering Waves

Ok so I've burned through all my echo xp and I've decided that this does indeed work. Six out of eight +15 echos rolled a crit line when attempting to roll at 15 second intervals. Pretty crazy. Great for 3 cost echos where I consider even one crit line a win. Thanks for sharing this information.

Your line of thinking is appropriate for a brand new player, but if you're pushing higher difficulty content or if you are trying to be efficenct with your rescources then you should not be rolling 15 echoes...you roll one line at a time, and you weed out the ones with the worst stats. Line up 5-10 echoes, roll each one, use a stat hierarchy to decide which get pushed to line two, and then line 3. If you brick the best ones, you move on yo the second best stat, and then so on and so forth. But if you hit something like flat Def or Def%, etc early...bail out. Reason being is you lose exponentially more tuners with each line. You lose 7 for line one, 14 for line 2, 21 for line 3. So if you are pushing to 3 every time and getting copium pieces then you're consistently wasting 2 attempts that could be put into other echoes and you don't even get 1 attempt back when you throw that piece into another. If you want to try this method he shows but with 1 line per attempt, then go ahead. But be warned that if you do what he is doing, you are going to be hurting for tuners sooner than someone else who is more careful. Good luck.

What you really want is crit rate + crit damage + atk %. The rest could be either the bonuses or energy regen.

If we were talking 70-100% chance to roll the desired stat we'd have some kind of conversation, but his own data sheet linked is hovering around values easily explained by variance and group bias inconsistencies that come with extremely small data sets. People are more than free to do whatever summoning/tuning rituals they feel works for them, but there really isn't anything substantial here to denote a 'proper' way to tune echos. Do it if you want to, but it most likely doesn't actually matter.

I've submitted some of my results on discord and I can 100% say that 80% of my double crit echoes are from X6:X5. Around 15% by X7:X5 and 5% just by pure chance. Even my friends who I introduced to the server are going nuts saying "oh damn this does work wtf" 💀 This shit saved me a fuck ton of resources. Thanks fam. SEA server btw. Edit: it seems like everyone is getting bad rolls on X6:X5 now and I must agree. I've been rolling for a few days now and I barely get anything I changed back to X7:X5 and I'm getting crits again. Lesson: JUST EXPERIMENT

@@strakyman He means the gacha for 5 star characters. I tend to believe this possibility too, but I think the character roll RNG is also affected by how many users are trying to roll at the same time. The more user are rolling, the higher the chance the RNG becomes not so RNG.

There are patterns with pulls. Your luck separated to 4 banners. Standart character banner, standard weapon banner, limited character and limited weapon also. If you ain't lucky with standart pulls, your luck will go on limited banners. Example with my situation. I pulled my standart weapon at 71 and 74 pulls. Ain't that lucky. My limited character banner ain't that lucky too. I lost 50/50 at 65 pulls and pulled Jinhsi at 61. But my weapon banner. I've got R4 weapon with 70 pulls. Each around 15-20. And that pattern will continue.

If you read the spreadsheet it’s says it’s not guaranteed. It’s not a matter of does it work or not. You need to understand that all we did was calculate hidden rates. There’s still a luck factor. Which is better than going in blindly rolling.

I just did an upgrade session last night prepping for Changli using this method. Was skeptical at first but holy shit, idk if it either works or just pure luck but I got 3 double crit rolls. Granted, it doesn't happen 100% of the time. Some rolled no crits and a few rolled only 1 crit stat. My tuners went from 370 to 140 so that should give an idea on how many tries I did (excluding the tuner refunds when feeding levelled echoes). Massive thanks for this info man!

Sad that some people are gonna fall for this so hard and needlessly waste so many materials. I haven't been leveling echoes for a few weeks now so I had the mats to spare. Tried it and on over 15 echoes I only rolled a single minimum crit rate roll once while getting the usual variety of dmg%, flat stats, and stat%. It is literally random chance, this system doesn't work, and people are getting placebo'd because they just so happened to get lucky when trying this out. I dont know why you would lie about something like this so blatantly, but its weird that you just so happened to have another video doing this same thing a month ago and it working for you just as well as this video... almost like you might be cheating to inflate your substat rolls while telling everyone else this is how you did it so they don't get suspicious. Just an observation considering how badly a supposed 26% chance at 7 minute marks was for me and multiple other people on the specified servers. It is rng; only thing you are manipulating is your viewers.

I watched the video multiple times, I did everything correctly to at least give you the benefit of the doubt, but after 25-30 echoes at this point and only getting a single minimum crit rate roll, this entire "oh its 25%, isn't that interesting guys?" Falls flat on its ass unless my luck is so terrible that it would would put a dent in this data sample due to how little data you actually have.

Yes, checking the charts the sample size is way too small. Mostly everyone just focusing on the 7 minute mark. I guess it does not hurt to do this but it does cost some time.

First .....thank you for your work. Just curious to know your mouse microswitch brand (not the mouse brand, if possible). Mine left (edited) button is too soft, sometimes give that sensation that you are late on those 10 deciseconds windows where the event should happens. There are lots of evidences (just read other videos comments) that people had a % increase in that couple of nice stats (Cr-Cd) I would add my 5 cents. . It worked nicely 10 days ago and today I had 2 different bad output in a row. Dunno if in this 1.2V they scrambled things...but I have a new mouse. Have you any feedback from your testers? I’m on Usa server so for me the x7 should be the best, even if we have a x9 with good % but a lot less tests. I normally go for x7: 10-20-30th sec. Just to be sure: Time format : hh:mm:ss:ds hour:minutes:seconds: deciseconds >>xx:x7 means every hours, at 7-17-27-37-47-57 minutes: 05-10-15-20-25-30-35-40-45-50-55 sec of that x7th minutes):decisecond is the thing. So to stay in the x5th sec of the x7th minute we have 10 deciseconds (os 1000ms if you prefer). I’ll use decisecs. Need to take in account: 1- own reacting time, (normally from 1,5 to 2,5 deciseconds it’s a quarter of that small 10 decisec. window, it’s not unimportant), 2-the time to make the mouse click (and this depends on the mouse left (edited) microswitch and few more things) 3- the server tics (the time for client and server communicate between them) 4-latency time (mine 130ms=1,3decisec). The problem: we don’t know tics value. Server tic can put your click outside the x7:05(-10-15-20) sec. window. I’ll make an example; server tics every second with client and it happens at every x7min.:xx (every sec): and at 20th decisecond (every 20th) -> in this case if you manage to mouse click before x7:05(sec) (10,15,20,25, etc.) and 20 deciseconds you will communicate your click in the x7 space of time and in the 5th second (or 10th, 15th etc.) . If you make the click after x7:05 (sec) and 20 deciseconds (for example x7 (7th min):05 sec( 5th sec) and 22decisec your input will arrive at server at x8:06(sec):20 decisecond and so out of that x7:05 (10,15,20 etc. milliseconds) needed. You made the click in the x7min.:05sec: and 22 decisecond but server will receive your communication at x7:06sec:20 deciseconds because that the point of every server-client check/tic. Theorycrafting % better to reduce bad rng, I would suggest 1) to click the nearest possible to xx(H):x7(min):05sec. (10-15-20-25 etc): 00 (deciseconds). That’s mean to stay focus on the fourth second and at 80/90 decisecond click to put your click in the 5th (or 10th-15th etc) sec. space of time. In the firsts deciseconds of that window od time and....2- to use 1 single upgrade to grant the first line of echo with Cr/Cd and then go with 3 in a row for grant the second. At least you will have already a nice stat in your echo and 3 shot for the second. If you burn you 1st Cr/Cd in the first 3 shot, the fourth (at 20) try will be really hard to grand the second Cr/Cd. In short: if the first line is not a Cr/Cd, trash the echo, if it is a Cr/Cd go for 3 in a row. Military says that if it is stupid but it works, it isn’t stupid. Probably naysayers should give a try to Linne McTaggart - The Field.

My mouse is just a reddragon one(cheap and works, honestly their whole anime character look they came out with recently is pretty nice). For the video I did 3 tunes at a time. But yes I do use single tunes more these days and I’m like clicking at 400ms before the time I want these days. So yes single tunes consistently with the clicks have been giving me better outcomes. All my built characters have around 70% - 80% crit rate with 235% - 260% crit dmg. Mainly 43311 builds also. And single tune timed clicks were what’s been giving me those. Together with if you have those already you have a high chance of also getting atk% energy regen res liberation and res skill around the same times also. So it just all works out in the end 🤣.

Hi, i am the owner of the first jinhsi build he showed. I wanna elaborate further that i DIDNT farm those spectro echoes in advance, so i am sort of starting from 0 on patch 1.1 date, which is 28th/29th june i forgot. Some of the days if i was too tired i didnt even farm the spectro echoes at all. and the fact i managed to finish the build of double crits on all pieces within 2 WEEKS or so, is insane. From your first vid about WuWa echomancing, I noticed that you're clicking every 5 sec mark and I applied it to mine and it kinda works. What set this method apart from mine is that I don't have a timer to look at but rather I count 5 sec after pressing the 4x tune button. I tune by doing 4x at a time per echo leaving 1 tune whenever I get enough exp to lvl it upto 25. Maybe it's just me but I have better luck on Thu or Fri playing on SEA server, but I don't have data to back up my claims.

Not at the moment. That’s just something some players messed with on discord. While spamming bosses they noticed that absorbing echos at certain times got them more crit mainstats.
