Love it, Fil! Great news for me as I don't have a fast brushless setup! Well, I'm not sure if my 15T brushed will be that fast but we'll give it a go! Your TT02 looks awesome and a decent benchmark speed. Don't know what gearing you're running but stock gearing is very limiting. Great video and boy, that vacation spot looks beautiful - enjoy!

I think the rule changes a great idea. You really need to get some much taller gears in that thing if you’re gonna have any chance of going fast! That motor should easily get that car to 60 mph with the right gearing. Depending on the gearing options available, really 70 mph should be doable. Good luck.
@poorboysrc Жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian. I agree, the short gearing is going to be changed to get this thing moving. I was shocked that a 10.5T BL motor didn't even get me 30 Mph. Taller gears are on their way! :)
@BriansRCStuff Жыл бұрын
@@poorboysrc I have an Kyosho Ultima Pro XL that was surprisingly slow with a 10.5t 3600 kv motor with the original gearing but when I adjusted the gearing f it went over 60 mph…. And the gear ratios were pretty limited.😁 But yeah, tall gearing can really take advantage of the torque of a brushless motor.

Nice 😊The Tamiya brushless motors are extremely slow for their turn rating. I also had the 10.5T. Switched to a Hobbywing 10.5T combo and a big pinion and was hitting 88km/hr easy but limited by control. Couldn’t keep it straight!
@poorboysrc Жыл бұрын
I've heard that a few times now. 10.5T @3300kv seems off... I would think 10.5T would be closer to the 4500kv range (or more). 👊🏼

Great rule adjustment Fil! This challenge is obviously firing up quite a lot of interest in KZbin land, you're guna have your work cut out keeping up with all the entries! Can I just check, are there any rules around gearing - not so much gear ratio, more so around pitch? Only ask as I have a few different pitches but not sure if we’re limited in this challenge. Cheers from across the pond mate 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇱🇰 Ps do you have a set of scales? I only ask as for club racing I was taught how to balance my car on a set of Rc scales, which helps with balance / car control on track so I can only assume it crosses over and applies here too. Also, not sure what suspension set up your using but maybe try messing around with different springs and shock oil (hard vs soft) and see if that makes a difference when running on bumpy ground …and of course get a set of YeahRacing /TRF 50mm suspension kits - these help with lowering the ride height. Hope this helps buddy 👍😎🇬🇧🇺🇸🇱🇰

I hear ya, man. And a valid point you're making. I set the rule that way because a lot of the UK guys still run brushed/nimh/nicad and keep away from LiPo. So it was not a perfect rule, but I think it levels the playing field the most effectively. 👊🏼

@roberttierney9284 Жыл бұрын
Tighten the nut on your left front and you will loose a lot of the slop you showed. LOL! If the wheels are still loose you know how to use shims. Traxxas gets most of it's vehicles over 50mph with a 3500kv motor. A 10.5 is closer to a 4300 to 4500KV motor. You are WAY TOO UNDER Geared.
@poorboysrc Жыл бұрын
Yeah, time to start playing with gearing options for sure. I thought I'd be a lot faster than I was out of the box. 👊🏼
@koenallard Жыл бұрын
Much slop in the steering can be reduced by using a long enough M3 bolt from underneat the chassis and a washer and nut on the top. Also, i'm not sure if you have the option nr1 alu steering set, but that is rubbish. If you don't have it yet, don't buy it. The best steering set is sadly enough the Tamiya one. And i say sadly, because of the price. On ebay there is also a little carbon bridge that ties the to pivot points and the ballbearing cap together. I got it with the option nr1 alu steering set (that's how i know it's rubbish), but you can get it separate too.
@poorboysrc Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm running the Option #1 steering, and like you said, it's pretty sad. It did come with the carbon Fibre bridge, but I didn't know what to do with it, lol. So I placed it in the parts bin. 👍🏻
