Rick it's your real life demonstrations that prove design, function and use of Presonus equipment. Educational and groovy too! How about more from your studio? Thanks jwg

Love this video, watched it a hundred times. I got my RM32ai last year and it has changed our production so much for the better. I have just upgraded to the Dante option card too so I'm looking forward to doing recording over the network :)

Great video Rick, you killed it on your solo!! Would you be able to explain in depth (maybe a separate video) your routing for the wireless headphones. My church is looking into getting the new series 3 studiolive ai possibly with a 16 ch rm mixer and I was thinking about using a behringer powerplay 16 headphone system, but watching this video I don't think we're going to need that. If you could do that, that'll be amazing, many Thanks!

It always sounds so easy to connect this and that. I am a tech/music guy and I think that getting things to work together is hard work. This is a nice video, anyway! :) Thanks.

AlfaAxel Not with this stuff. Seriously. I've been using Presonus Studio Live mixers for 5 years now, and it is really simple, and it does just work! Cheers MM
@AlfaAxel9 жыл бұрын
Michael Maher :: I'm glad that you find it easy after 5 years of usage, but for the beginner there may be some doubt as to why devices work that way, how much USB load can you have and what can you do in order to make some simple home-setup work. My son uses Studio One and often asks me, and I forget what and whatnot.

One quick question to the iPad users, how is the hardware performance of the iPad relevant to control the RM Mixers? Does the app only visualize what the RM32 Mixer is processing and does not need a lot of processing, or is it good to have a powerful device, because it also needs to process data on its own? Or: will a less powerful device end up having trouble and latency controlling the Mixers, without including wifi connectivity?
@drummerboy100jh9 жыл бұрын
Hey Rick great setup and incredible guitar playing so smooth powerful and one of the cleanest recordings i have heard from your band or anybody that has posted their recordings on line using studiolive ai products. Can you tell me how you connected with what wires the presonus headphone amp for the musicians with wired in ears and also when you say the DB connectors on the back or a mirrored copy of the outputs on the front does that mean on the outputs when you set the fat channel settings for those does it apply to the DB connections out the back. Thanks. One last question will you all be making anymore StudioLive hardware mixers with moving faders.

Awesome thanks Rick for your quick response I only wish the classic and ai mixers had DB connections also for the aux's. Right now at our church the band uses the aviom system an we use the DB 25 connections to connect the aviom while not being able to use the fat channel on them if something pops or somebody drops the mic we have no limiter or other dynamic effects to help save our ears any suggestions would be great or if there is a work around Thanks.
@TheLegitSounds9 жыл бұрын
You can use the fat channel on the aux sends to set limiters, high pass, and things like para EQ (to RTA wedges).

Cool video, but for a newcommer to digital mixing and daws, when are Presonus Comming with an USB3 version, so entry level custommers don't have to buy a 6.000 $ MacBook for the daw ? As an it-professional i know for a fact that FireWire maybe was the Way to go 10 years ago, but its beating a dead horse to keep using it today.
@presonus9 жыл бұрын
+mrdali67 Hey there, I hear you. Our FireWire interfaces and mixers can be used on Thunderbolt via an adapter: www.presonus.com/news/press_releases/PreSonus-FireWire-Interfaces-Compatible-with-Apple-Thunderbolt-Adapter The Studio 192 is USB 3.0: www.presonus.com/products/Studio-192 And the RM-series mixers have AVB built-in: www.presonus.com/products/StudioLive-RM-Series Hope that helps!

So virtual sound check is available on the RM? I thought we were waiting on a firmware update to be able to use that. No?
@TheRickdoggie9 жыл бұрын
You can currently play tracks back from either Capture, StudioOne or any DAW and have them show up on individual mixer channels. The way I handle it is just creating a scene with each of the Digital Return buttons engaged. In a future version of UC Surface that we are working on, we will have Virtual Soundcheck built into Capture just like on the AI Mixers which will be even cooler.

is the faders, gain completely re-callable? And can I save the whole mixer scenes for each song full recall. like if you have a 16 list of songs with different band or lead vocal. Can i create the scenes and in one button recall it for each song? thanks
@presonus9 жыл бұрын
Yes to all! Faders and gains on the RM mixer are completely recallable and you can save the full mixer scene and recall it for each song.

What wireless in ear units do you use? Do you run the in ears from the mixer through the hp60 to the in ears? Does presonus offer wireless mic/in ear systems?
@presonus9 жыл бұрын
noreaction Hey there, we don't manufacture a wireless in-ear solution. You could run through the Aux Outputs of the StudioLive or the HP60, your choice.

The DB25 connectors on the back are basically copies of the front panel Aux Outputs. And yes, they have Fat channels available on each of them.
