The biggest city I ordinarily visit is Jacksonville, FL which has less than 2 million people and is very large in area. The biggest city in my general region is Atlanta which is vast and busy, and has around 6 million in the larger metro area. I am constantly amazed that there are places in China that are on this scale that I've never heard of, and that seem like decent economical places to live! How would I pick one? I don't know if this is possible anyway. I think I would judge by videos made in markets! That and the climate. The problem is that the KZbin videos tend to go to famous places, so I won't see a lot of places that might be relevant.

I love video footage of shopping areas where the locals shop, especially where there are families shopping and they've brought their children with them, where you can also see people of all ages old and young. It's nice to see the tier 1 cities but I find the videos of the tier 3, + much more fascinating. Thank you for this. p.s. Your footage will be a testament to the changes in China, for in _______ number of years, this part of China may look quite different from now. ☯👍🏻🕊🦉

is the city tiering system from government/officially recognized?

Yes

The tiering system is not from the government but accepted by the government. Generally you only see the Statistics Department use tiering system in the government. In most of the official context the concept of "regional central city" is more widely used. Central city is more defined with the functions instead of only magnitude, so it is a more precised concept. However the tiering system is very easy to understand so most Chinese people prefer to use this concept.
