It’s impossible literally impossible to Do medicine in America being from a humble middle class family that too from A non metro city .. you did it ,, simply amazing 🤩 ..in India itself we can’t do medicine because of the cost Amazing 🤩.

Even as a Tamil American, I can confirm it’s very hard for even us (I have my citizenship). First you do undergraduate bachelors and that in itself is expansive if you’re going to a good university. After that you do med school for four years. I’m pursuing the route and it’s minimum 250K debt for us by the time we finish. PG is usually 50K per year but by the time taxes are there it’s 30K, so we accrue debt and the interest rate is 6 percent for loans in education. That post graduation training and specialization will be another 6-7 years. Many people’s debt will double by the time they finish the training. Unless you pick a good speciality, its very hard. It’s better to do it in Europe or India instead of the United States.

So true what you say... Even we moved to US as first generation docs. We have been here for 16 years now. No regrets with regards to career but cannot do much for parents.
