Great idea. I designed a similar system, but never made a prototype. Mine was based on the flex of the tube itself, rather than the tuning slide.

It is another form of valve, however I feel the intention of the video shows that it is a straight trombone that can be switched to F in a very efficient way. Because there are no 90 degree angles this trombone will play like a straight trombone, thus feels like it doesnt have valves

It's not a valve because a valve routes the air into the F attachment. Instead of moving the air into the F attachment, this moves the F attachment into the air if that makes any sense.

@@thecolonoscoper5168 It does, but its really just running into semantics trying to say its not a valve, or if it is a valve. Its like replaceable tool CNC machines, do they have 40 tools on one spindle, or do they have 40 CNC machines.

Played orchestrally for years, and I never found that the type of valve made any significant difference that practice and familiarity with a given system couldn't overcome, hence the proliferation and persistence of old and new valves. It just doesn't matter. However, physics dictates that 'where' the valve is placed, relative to the nodes and rarefactions of a given wave form (in this case relative to the fundamentals of F and Bb) should matter greatly. Failing that development, and all things 'else' being equal, if this option could be made to look less...unbalanced and offset, it might win some purchase with those who are looking for sponsorships.
