Irony. The ad that followed right after your wonderful presentation was the new dog training Masterclass commercial. "There are no untrainable dogs, just untrained humans." Then I started reading some of the comments and they are already out in force. That's when the irony hit. We live in great times. An almost miracle happened with the new vaccines and everybody is worried about - whatever! Folks, this is our Apollo moment.

@@journeyinthemoment Bossche is a crank who makes multiple factual and logical errors. He admits that the COVID-19 vaccines are effective and will protect people who are vaccinated; but then claims _that’s the problem._ He assumes incorrectly that the vaccines won’t inhibit transmission but they in fact, shown by research, _do._ He claims that antibodies stimulated by vaccines allow the virus that mutate into variants that will create super-duper viruses that will cause our doom. In fact the immune response initiated by the vaccines is as good or _better_ than from an actual infection. The virus (which in my opinion is a result of gain of function research) actively subverts and suppresses the body’s immune responses; the vaccines are designed specifically to stimulate and educate the immune response. Bossche thinks that it is a good idea to the virus rip, to let billions of people worldwide to be infected, resulting in enormous morbidity, mortality, and economic disasters, and in each of those infected bodies the virus is mutating, creating new variants, increasing enormously the odds of creating the super-viruses that he is ostensibly concerned about , able to overcome natural and vaccine acquired immunity. He discounts the human acquired immunity systems, which allow us and other animals to survive in our environments drenched with pathogens, the acquired immune systems that recognize pathogen antigens presented by vaccines or actual infections, and create antibodies, B and T cells which destroy infected, virus-factory, cells. The acquired immune system remembers the pathogen’s antigens and is able respond with swiftly and powerfully. Bossche will none of that. Instead he thinks that we should place all hope in our innate immune system specifically natural killer cells. The innate immune system is our first line of defense and buys us time while it recruits the adaptive immune system, but it doesn’t have memory: It will respond exactly the same way to a pathogen the second, third, _or any subsequent infection the same way it did the first. Bossche has a notion to make a vaccine based on natural killer cells, which again have no memory. He published notion this a few years ago in a pay-to-publish, “predatory “ journal. That was his first publication since 1995. The claim that Bossche is an internationally recognized vaccine expert is bullshit. While Bossche demands that we immediately halt vaccination with the already authorized, highly efficacious vaccines that are already rapidly reducing deaths in populations where high proportions of the elderly have been vaccinated; to wait for his notion of a natural killer cell vaccine, for which there is no evidence that he has significantly developed such a vaccine, or even started to do so. Millions have already died with only a small proportion of the World’s population having been infected. Without widespread rollout of this vaccines many more millions of people will die. And hundreds of millions more will suffer long term complications, often life changing. Bossche doesn’t care. And neither do anti-vaxxer cranks like you. You called it “[a] most important video” but you have no no understanding nor interest in the science, it’s just another boogy-man to scare people away from the very safe, very effective vaccines that could save their lives.

Correlation does not mean causation. What studies exist that show small pox went away because of the vax?
@varyolla43510 ай бұрын
What is needed to study...... Following an organized multi-year global eradication campaign whereby multiple nations participated in the effort = Smallpox was subsequently eradicated - it is a matter of historical record. The massive drop in incidence in the countries where Smallpox had previously been endemic following the eradication program throwing resources into those areas resulted in precipitous decline in incidence within a short period of time leading to a subsequent elimination altogether of Smallpox cases in the country in question. So in this case correlation does equal causation...........

@varyolla43510 ай бұрын
Yes - the latter being summed up as "recombinant" vaccines. Each represents a specific type which can reflect the nature of the pathogen in question. In other words some pathogens might be okay as far as using in an attenuated form - while others are simply too virulent to risk such. So the latter would be a better candidate for recombinant vaccines or perhaps inactivated along with an adjuvant. The Ebola vaccines are recombinant as you would not want to risk introducing even a weakened form of the Ebola virus into a person. There is no "one size fits all" as far as vaccines.
