If animal life forms have all the same rights to an undisturbed life as do humans, should we legally penalize carnivorous animals who prey on their animal contemporaries for sustenance? Or should we allow them to continue to brutally slaughter other animals because their livelihood depends on these practices, whereas humans could technically thrive without slaughtering other sentient beings?
@willb14054 жыл бұрын
I’ve never seen a vegan advocate that animals have ALL THE SAME RIGHTS humans do, because that would include the right to vote and drive and protest which is absurd obviously. What they deserve is the right to be protected by law, that is their safety, well being, and autonomy. They should be afforded the rights we would want if we were going to be in their position. Wild animals are irrelevant in this case and talking about them is, from a pragmatic point of view, meaningless.
@IncredibleIceCastle4 жыл бұрын
Will Bourner V how are wild animals irrelevant if we are discussing the rights of any and all animals? Is it justified to kill and eat animals if you live in a part of the world that doesn’t have sufficient access to vegan alternatives? Obviously most developed countries could technically cut out meat consumption, but what do you think? Should every animal’s right to a life without abuse be protected or do we just need to make sure humans aren’t abusing them anymore than they must to survive?
@dannyHighfruit4 жыл бұрын
@@IncredibleIceCastle the difference is certain animals have bodies adapted to hunt and eat other animals. they also don't need to cook it before eating meat
@willb14054 жыл бұрын
Elijah Gavin Elijah Gavin if we had a modern human slavery and slaughter system just like we have for farm animals now, indigenous tribespeople would be irrelevant in discussing the end of that system. so in that sense, talking about wild animals is irrelevant in the context of the animals we’ve bred into a slavery torture and holocaust cycle. i fully support in principle the idea of all animals, wild or not, having fundamental rights but, practically speaking, wild animals aren’t in our society to be legally protected in the way farm animals should be protected from the torture and abuse they suffer. that doesn’t mean wild animals shouldn’t in theory have rights, I just don’t see how talking about that is worthwhile, unless you’re genuinely interested in those ideas. If you have no access to plant based food whatsoever then I would say it’s justified to kill animals yes, equally I would say it’s justified to kill a human if you have no alternative choice.

In the past before youtube someone like you would not be very productive with all the encouragement they would be given to the person or persons they were speaking to, but now when you film yourself talking to someone thousands of people get to watch these conversations, I'm glad we have youtube because without it I don't think this movement would be moving forward are fast as it is.

So because dogs are cute and we've bred them into perfect little companions, is it not abuse to own them? I have loved many dogs in my life, but it's still not right to breed them into existence just to be our pet toys.... we are enslaving them all the same, despite convincing ourselves that we love them... Does someone who loves you chop your balls off and trap you in a cage? Dogs have the genetics of a wolf... Imagine the number of behaviors we've prevented them from having by removing them from the wild... Do you really think any number of walks could ever compare to the life of a wolf in the wild? Can the same dry food everyday compare to a natural diet in the wolf pack? We really need to think about how to change the perception of pet ownership as well... It's not as important, but we shouldn't ignore it either... Dogs are abused everyday and we shouldn't forget that

@OnTheSquare OnTheLevel Why???? 😂😂🤣 There are between 200 000 - 400 000 vegan & plant-based people in Sweden that has a population of 10 M and some of the most successful vegan companies are Swedish like Oatly for example. Animal products are on a steady decline and we have 4 political parties that have varying degrees of vegan leaning policies. Veganism fits quite well with the national, cultural and political identity of Sweden. You stand for ending animal exploitation, for the environment and you become healthier which equals a healthier society so I am just really curious why you would react like that?
@nielss59454 жыл бұрын
This is what I've been trying to tell people for a long time. The problem with the world is not a lack of feeling, it's a lack of valuing logic. Most people who eat meat have good heart, but it's because their minds are all foggy and don't know how to think straight, that they continue eating meat. See how easy it is to convince people when they are intellectually honest with themselves, instead of being all defensive and all that stuff? It is nice to see people who actually value logic. I hope this is a trend. A global logic trend would be the best thing that ever happened to humanity...

@The Fiber King "rescue" is a euphemism everything you say is double speak to try and special plead that your form of exploitation is "acceptable" i said prove me wrong, not admit im half right, and then lie about the rest. thats literally tone policing me and damning me with faint praise. you do not need to own a pet to live. nor are you vegan if you contribute to animal exploitation.. by any means.. especially rescue and adoption. veganism isnt about compassion, its about ending animal exploitation and the only people who are tring to say that its about compassion are trying to rationalize and compartmentalize their part in animal exploitation. if there is no such thing as "humane slaughter", then there is no such thing as "humane slavery"

@zonnovate88094 жыл бұрын
@@drbrussel7476 It IS your fault. Everything you do is your moral respobility. It is a pathetic excuse to use "food chain" to excuse yourself from putting animals who have done nothing wrong to you through unimaginable suffering. How would you like it if there were animals above us who were intelligent like us, who could understand right from wrong like us choosing to rape, exploit, torture and murder your family just because they liked the taste of your flesh and they viewed you as part of their food chain. Imagine how you would feel not knowing the concept of "family" because you were taken from your mother straight after birth. Then imagine living a life of imprisonment, never having 1 minute of freedom away from humans exploiting you. Finally seeing your friends in the same gass chamber as you suffocating to death in c02 gass... but they taste nice? How sick of you, don't you feel ashamed to be that cold and evil? You know just like all of us you were once a child who would do anything to protect animals because you connected to their innocence and purity. Now look at you, you support the murder and abuse of animals. Watch what you cause to animals then realise the sick things you are trying to morally justify: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goK1cpmArqqmodE Also you need to realise we have ZERO kindness and compassion compared to the gentle animals we slit the throuts of. You must be have either not spent time with cows, chicken, pigs or you must be deluded if you really think they would kill us if they had the chance 😂 My friend only sick humans like you would do that done even try to bring these majestic animals down to your low, filthy, disgusting level. Why the fuck is it so hard to just to the fair, basic thing of not paying people to murder animals?
