A “feeling” = experience plus a farmers intuition… loved the vid…loved the monthly markers….I watched it in sections and parts due to making dinner, which also was done “in parts”😉. I luv the moments dad imparts his experience, the snarky comments by yer cousins and brothers…. I know it’s not always fun, but it sure looked rewarding.

Holy cow! Thank you for taking the time to sort through all the footage - from a 'former' tomato start and annual flower grower to the veggie boys/girls - you ROCK! I had a very small greenhouse operation in the Pacific NorthWest - nothing like you guys - but, I get it - from seeding and cuttings to full, amazing and producing plants - it is a process with 'stuff' most do not think about. Take care and see you and the babies a bit later in 2024!

My favorite video of the year! It's so nice to go back to when the tomatoes and peppers were all in good stead. It's funny, I was thinking about the other things that were going on as each of the clips rolled by, like when a few of the fields didn't drain well from the water and Andrew walking through the creek created between the rows. I can't decide which I like better - planting or picking. It's got to be the picking though because I like to imagine what it must be like to taste veggies that have just been picked from the vine/plant. You'd think we'd get fresh vegetables here in Florida, but you have to be near a farmer's market and I am not. Even so, most of the guys who dare to come up this way are driving like 3 hours from Plant City and they've picked up seconds from auction so the produce has been away from the vine for a while to begin with. What a wonderful look back. I loved it!

You guys have the most beautiful vegetables. I love to make stuffed peppers but I rarely find any green peppers that are as big and beautiful as yours. I also love a good fresh tomato to make a tomato sandwich. There's nothing better. Or a pot of nice fresh green beans and new potatoes with a big slab of bacon to cook them with. And a pan of corn bread, small green onions and a big yellow stripey tomato sliced with it and a fresh cold cucumber. ❤️

Loved this longform recap, although I know it translated into far more editing work. One thing I love about growing food: it represents a kind of faith. Not the religious kind, that takes nothing. But the faith you have to have in yourself and in the people around you, if you have them, that you can take (for instance) a teeny tomato seed and turn that one seed into fifty pounds or more of tomatoes. Or, as a for instance from one seed and one plant I tracked years ago, one green bean seed yielding 41.75 pounds of green beans. It's a great skill - and faith - to have, that relies on not much more than you doing whatever is in your power to go from tiny seed to bountiful harvest, and there isn't much that brings that sort of satisfaction in life. Cheers.
