I do so enjoy your weekly output Tim… pity the cameras went but perhaps given the conditions and that prodigious tailwind, better for those of us that are weak of heart 😊

It was a great shame but I had to work with what I had. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement

Crikey Tim you Nayland boys have a sporty outlook on flying nearly sprayed my breakfast cereal over the screen in amazement, pesky cameras and those darn batteries, very entertaining, Chris.

Thank you Chris. Your comment made me smile. Glad you liked the video despite not having much to work with.

Aww! The build up to the landing was great, Tim. You’ll have to go up in similar wind conditions with full batteries and finish it off for us! 😆

It was rather disappointing wasn't it! :(

That other aircraft you filmed landing gave a good impression of the approach conditions. Sporty!! Still can’t wait to get up to see you in the 182.

Martin did a very good job. When he was further out (and my camera did not cope with the distance) he was really being thrown around! Come on a calming day or when there is a northerly (but then you have a tailwind take off!)

Well done Tim that WAS exciting wasn't it?? I'm afraid I would have chickened out of this one though - just too windy for me ... Thanks for the video mate!

Thank you Mike. It was an interesting flight and a bit of a challenging landing and it was disappointing that I did not capture it on film.

With that Broad Chord and light wing loading Jodels will find all the bumps for you. At least you have a nice Uphill runway to slow you down on landing with a flat one you would have had some real fun. Nice video . Regards, Jim in NI

Very true but maybe with a flat strip I could have landed on the reciprocal?

Did that in the Circut hadn,t flown for a couple weeks it was iffy but decided nup doing it. Jodel got a couple foot off the ground and I thought well that was a pretty stupid thing to do bang, boof , whack. Needless to say only one circuit was enough. Lowest I ever had ground speed was 30knots highest was 135. Good vid bloody tech eh batteries should last longer than that. Anyhoo keep at it carry on.

Thank you very much Nick. I think we all need to blow the cobwebs away at times and this was certain the wind to do it!
@ShortField2 жыл бұрын
As Mikey says Tim, can't you rig up external power either with a power brick or off the a/c electrics. This always happens at the worst possible time. That tailwind looked pretty strong indeed, well done.
@JodelFlyer2 жыл бұрын
The last time I tried with cable from the USB point I got a strange and loud interference on the audio. The wind did really focus the attention on that landing!

As you said Tim “ we lived to tell the tale “ , it’s always a bonus . It’s always good to get your feet firmly on terra firma on days like that . My best wishes and here’s hoping your next flight is a smooth as silk . Cheers 👍

Thank you Dave. Has it continued to dry out a bit now. My son landed in Sydney today with his young family for a short stay with friends.

@@JodelFlyer . The flood waters have receded , but the land is sodden , and even light rainfall yesterday caused runoff over the roads. I hope the weather clears for your Son , but it’s not looking too good with showers and below average temperatures .

The main issue I've always had with digital cameras or video cameras is the batteries. Which doesn't bode well for electric cars. It was nice to see the Pitts & Stearman at the fly-in but like you said, a little low on attendance.
@JodelFlyer2 жыл бұрын
The problem again was that I did not turn off the WiFi on the cameras while we were on the ground as we were eager to make sure that Richard was okay after his landing incident.
@Payne2view2 жыл бұрын
@@JodelFlyer Ah, I can see how that drained the batteries. Oh well, at least its something you're aware of and can take measures to avoid, so that's a good thing.

@@JodelFlyer I will get my autograph book out and find out, if Helen and Dave (Pitts pilot) will sign, if I can get past the crowds.

The cameras giving up was a shame all the flight back you seemed to be setting up for a frisky challenging landing then we missed it, Still you managed to capture victor echo which I assume was how you came in. A quick question do you run your cameras just off internal battery or do you have the external clip on batteries as well?
@JodelFlyer2 жыл бұрын
I do run them off their own batteries but the forward facing GoProb 4 does have a clip on extra battery pack but as I said elsewhere we got out quickly to make sure Richard was okay and I left the WiFi on for all of the time we were on the ground.
