Peter Capaldi and Wilf. Best episode ever. I've never met Peter Capaldi but I do own a hand drawn picture of what I believe was his cat that is dedicated to me and signed by the man himself. A distant connection via my mum and a family friend I think. I'm to this day not sure what motivated this drawing beyond my fondness for cats, and I believe a gentleman having an interest/friendship with my mother but I now have it framed and very pleased to have it as entirely coincidentaly became a fan of his starting with Soft Top Hard Shoulder and The Lair of the White Worm before he had his career making turns. I'm not sure what age I was when I initially got this. I think between the ages of 8-12 so likely sometime from 1987-1991 but that is a hazy memory.

One of my favourite performances from Capaldi post-Thick of It is in The Hour. I don't think what he did with that role gets enough attention or credit because the show was all too quickly axed. Great podcast. Loved it. Cheers comrades

Brilliant podcast! I fell in love with Peter Capaldi's work in the magnificent "Local Hero", waaaay back in the '80s - and he's just kept getting better ever since. I've never heard a long interview with him, so this was a real treat. Thank you!

I know it was upsetting to Peter at the time but I am so glad he didn’t permanently quit acting to become a writer director otherwise we wouldn’t get all his other brilliant performances! I can’t imagine a world without Peter’s Twelfth Doctor😢

Followed his acting career for years but loved his Doctor Who. I used to say that Troughton was my Doctor (old enough to have been annoyed when Pertwee took over), but Peter owned it. He really is the best.

Great podcast.... Being a small whale an all... The bit at the begining about the Montego... Reminded me of an uncle who had a "cut and shunt"...... Poorly welded.... Half Talbot. Half Alegro..... He said it was "All-Agro"..... I would have agreed but he drove off when it split.
