I will double check the video, but I was paying Metroid Dread last night for a few hours and it was perfect 😂 Maybe it's a shield leg

Yes, phew, electrically it will not make a difference, physically, maybe 😂 Now I know how easy it is to fix I'll just use it as is, I bet it will last a lifetime like this anyway 🤞🤞

Great work, I admire your ability to work inside other projects on your desk. I picture you strutting into the kids room, flinging the controller at them and saying "go on test that"
@backofficeshow2 жыл бұрын
Pretty much 😂 Usually it's DON'T BREAK IT AGAIN, DO YOU THINK I'M MADE OF MONEY? WHY DON'T YOU RESPECT YOUR THINGS etc etc. They aren't really listening. I decided to keep this controller in the secret drawer just for me to use 😂

I HAD TO WORK FOR 3 DAYS TO PAY FOR THAT CONTROLLER! YOU KNOW THE COST OF EVERYTHING BUT THE VALUE OF NOTHING!

One of these days I'd love to see you tackle a one-handed controller. Kinda like that one ASCII made for the SNES and PS1!

Ben Heck has made loads of videos on making one handed controllers.
@backofficeshow2 жыл бұрын
That's cool! I probably won't watch them, I like to see if I can solve things by myself, I guess that's the hobby for me 😂 But if I was asked to make one for someone, I would definitely watch that and look up everything on the subject 🤣

One handed controllers are definitely Ben Heckendorn's gig. I bet he'd be more than happy to share knowledge for the nobel cause of getting more disabled people gaming!

I have this exact board, but it stopped working over a year ago for anything other than USB. Yours has just always worked? I have two of them, still work for PC at least :)

what exactly are you using here to remove the flux at 12:48? Also how do you reconnect the end of the wires that are supposed to be connected to the rumble motors(not the end attached to the board)? Mine fell off while I was cleaning my controller.

Is the battery in the fake controller original Nintendo battery? Couldn’t see it good in the video.

What is that plunger tool you're using? Is it to suck off the solder, that you're unsoldering? Also, that temp you said, 320? Is that f or c? Either way, your video was extremely helpful. You made it very approachable.

Would you have a link to purchase a good ribbon cable that connects the two halves? Mine is chard because my daughter decided to clean it by sticking it under the faucet.

The analogue sticks definitely have gone down in quality over the years. Can't remember drift issues and breakage were as much of an issue with the consoles up to the X360.
@backofficeshow2 жыл бұрын
I don't really recall seeing drift on anything other than the switch joycons, and I can kinda forgive them, they are so intricate. But these really should last a decent length of time. I'm surprised they have not made a version that replaces the pots with optical encoders or hall sensors, they could do this as an aftermarket mod for sure
@custardo2 жыл бұрын
@@backofficeshow Xbox 1 controllers apparently do have drift issues too, although it doesn't seem as bad as the joycon's. Dreamcast controllers use hall effect sensors, and as uncomfortable as they are, they are very robust. The new 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless controller use them as well. I think I'll buy one for my PC when they are released in november.

They sell the controllers for so much money. I doubt there going to have a bother fixing it. Luckily the spare parts are cheap 😂
