My Dad, God Bless him, had one cardinal rule in his life: never miss a chance to use the bathroom or have a hot dog. Still runs true if you ask me. So, you're a Virgo. Explains a lot. Virgos are hilarious, loads of fun and the friend everybody should have. My only question about this "do" -- how come you have to cater your own party? If I were your friend I wouldn't be chowing-down for free, but would provide the party you deserve. ANYWAY -- Happy Birthday Dear Alison -- Live long and prosper. You're very special.

Alison, since you love a cabbage salad, I think you will enjoy my favorite Ukrainian salad that my mom always makes (especially as a dill lover as well). It's super simple: Shred some cabbage and halve and thinly slice a cucumber and some green onions. Combine and dress with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and tons of dill. You can add some peas if you want as well, but my mom usually doesn't. It's so easy and crispy and refreshing and delicious.

It was her secret ingredient in both potato salad and macaroni salad. Truly, when it's not included, it really feels like something is missing. So glad you've discovered how wonderful it can be.

Happy birthday! It makes so much sense that you are a Virgo. The best hotdog I can remember having are the ones they sell outside Oracle Park. Way better than the ones they sell inside the field. The vendors wrap the dog in bacon and top them with grilled peppers and onions like fajita style. SO good.

This is the best video you've filmed! 🌭🌭🌭 It was edited beautifully ... The video game music during cooler-tetris was *perfect*. I love how she initially says her perfect hotdog has onions and mustard (me too!) but later shows us her perfect hotdog which has a multitude of toppings. Moral of the story.... All hot dogs are perfect. The friend interviews were delightful. I agree entirely on your chip opinions (pick the right friend). This was inspiring and I am now penciling in a "Hot Dog Party" on my calendar bc it's all I want now.

My husband taught me this hot dog recipe: Cut long strips of sharp cheddar cheese. Wrap hot dog and cheddar cheese with Wright's bacon. Bake on tray in oven at 375 for 35 minutes. I spread the hot dog buns with mayo and garlic salt and broil until edges are crunchy. It's a game changer.
