I really think you should be careful when customising, since your items are limited. I think Auto-Med in particular is a bad idea for the same reason. Against imp-type enemies, you can also use Silence Attack, which makes them mostly harmless for 3 turns instead of just 1. Though if you are putting them to sleep, remember that sleeping targets never evade attacks, so even Auron hits them 100% of the time. Don't forget Auron's Tacit Blade, it really saves MP against magic-using enemies (except the flying ones). Note that even in the vanilla game, elements were immune to Petrification. When using Aurochs Reels on regular enemies, the skull symbol is best. It inflicts Poison, Darkness, Silence and Sleep, which almost always guarantees a win.
