The reason they don't have "Andy" written under his boot is probably because they want it to feel like a brand new toy (rather than a toy someone has owned for years). What I mean is that Andy didn't receive Woody with the name "Andy" already printed there, he got it with a blank boot, same with Buzz, and wrote his name. In fact, I remember I had an older Woody toy when I was young and wrote my name under his boot for fun. I'm getting this new Woody along with Buzz in the mail and I can't wait!

The no name on the boot appeals to kids. As soon as my 3yr old son got his toy story toys out of the box, he whipped out a sharpie and was so excited to write his own name on it. Makes it special for him! Very cool toy, wish the hat was felt like in the movie and would love to see one with a wooden head like in the movie, but all in all, very awesome!

hes my favorite like andy too & on may 18 2014 i went 2 toys r us & got him! i got him with me right now & i promised him i’ll always love him & take care of him no matter how old i am!!! i didnt care if i was 19 & still dont if i turn 26 next month on the 22!!! i hope & keep praying when this damn virus gets under control & the damn pandemic ends toys r us still opens back up like they were gonna b4 it started. i still love it & still love toys. slinkys my second favorite cuz hes a dog & i love dogs

I used to have all of them and I got them for Christmas because I went crazy for toy story. The only ones I didn’t have was mrs and mr potato head but I loved them, they weren’t ours they were our friends but they gave them to me and I was so happy, I played with buzz and woody

I have one of the one from the time of the first movie. It came with a Guitar that played the theme music for Toy Story. He could hold it. Love Woody, Awesome figure. 5/5 stars.

You know, if this toy was designed the way it would come in the box, then OF COURSE it wouldn't say ANDY on his foot. Andy was only written on ANDY'S toys. This isn't Andy's, it's everybody's. Which is why it comes in the old timey box.

the string flies back to fast. in the movie, whenever someone pulled his string, it would slowly snake back, but in real life for all the woody toys i have seen, the strings fly back really fast.

I think the reason why this figure doesn't have "Andy" on his foot is that this is the same toy Andy's father "bought". Not the same toy Andy "played with". I think thats what they were trying to impress.

I bought the "Playtime Sheriff Woody" doll, and he pretty much has all the same functions, but he only has about 30 sayings and he's interactive; and, like this one, you also have to pull his ass out to change the batteries, lol.

I had the first version of the "toy story" woody. Its not the original doll that woody was based on but its one of the oldest. I got it for Christmas in 1999 or 2000 and i still have it, although its been some time and its not in as good shape as it used to, I lost the hat and the string fell off. I also got a buzz doll at that same time but i think its still up in my grandma's attic.

I find it amusing that a lot of people complain about the lack of Andy's name in the boot (which is excusable) but not the face sculpts which do not match the "static" faces seen in the movies!

I got this for my birthday along with Buzz by request (by the way, your reviews inspired me to get them, so thanks!) and they are completely awesome! I had trouble getting them to stand up but now I got Buzz pretty balanced, but I'm still having problems with Woody. I have them standing side-by-side and Woody kinda has to lean on Buzz to stay up. It's mainly because of his stand where it flaps up (still haven't understood how it supposed to work) but I'll find him flopped on the floor at times.

I used to have a Woody where you press the bottom button and he said 3 sayings. One day, a little boy came over, ran up to my room with my brother, grabbed Woody and took him outside where he banged the head on the porch until his head broke off. That kid is so lucky he moved. Even though I'm still mad, I'm amazed he still works after all these years.

Thinkway toys also has made the original Disney/PIXAR toys since Toy Story. Of course they have also had sub-contracts with Hasbro and Mattel but Thinkway has always been there! And its John LASSETER!

Hmm, his face does have a bit of a creepyness to it, but that's simply due to how the face works from being ported form the movie to a toy. I actually like him, but would have preferred a display one without the voicebox and thus a whole lot cheaper.

man, that woody figure is so tall, I wouldn't be surprised if you do a parody of the scene in toy story where they show buzz for the first time, but buzz is Woody and woody are the transformers and they are afraid of his technology or something like that.

I'm a Woody fan since 95 I used to have the original figure (not as nice as this though). But I think the reason for there is no ANDY written on the bottom of the boot is that if you're a Kid and you buy it you're suppose to write your own name ;)

I just bought Woody as well as Buzz from eBay... Can't wait to receive them both.. The only flaw I think of the Woody is the oversized ring for the pull string. I realize that the ring isn't that big in the movie after watching the movie again last night.. But still, this Woody figure together with Buzz is a masterpiece..

The point about there not being Andy on the bottom: Perhaps they want it to represent how Woody would be to buy in the movie ie before Andy had him. In that case there would not be anything written on him?

i think the point of these toys is that you make them you're own, a replica of what woody would have looked like new...hence the lack of "andy". same goes for the strawberry bear, who appears to be depicted with a cane in the movie, but isn't in the product. you're the proud new owner of woody from woody's roundup rather than toy stoy

Andy is not on the bottom because the idea behind this collection Is to have the toys packaged as if you bought them at the same place Andy did. not if you stole them from Andy's house.

I can tell you what bothers me about this doll... The fact that Woody has little eyelids at the top, in the opening scene of Toy Story (the first); it shows that his eyes are not covered at all. I don't know. Just little things bother me like that.

I own this one.Its wow its indescribable...its an amazing toy :D ..I let my nephew play with him but all he did was hold it far away from his face and kept staring at him with a scared face lol he though it might of come alive...I had in the play mode which made it worse for him ..he kept telling woody Please dont come alive woody im scared...and woody kept saying "play nice" lol

the first woody was made out the same stuff except shoes. they were made out the same stuff as the hat.

Optibotimus, here is my issue with this Woody. The proportions are off from the film version. Woody's torso should be shorter, his head larger, and his arms longer. There is an outstanding version that I purchased based on The Roundup Gang. That series includes Jessie and Bullseye and Prospector. The sculpts are based on the marionette versions seen in TS2. The hats are actual leather, as are the belts. Yes this Woody is nice, but I think these toys are over hyped.
