Once you are into your 20s everyone are living their own paths, ppl get married, ppl have kids and the amount of friends are reduced drastically. I’m in my middle 30s, It’s been two years since I also moved to a new country and into a big city, I totally feel the same way.... I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling the same way... and it’s ok...

I moved after high school and lost contact with my friends. I have to say, it is a lot harder to find new friends when you're not at school anymore. This is one of many reasons why I would tell younger people to not underestimate their time in school, and to stop wanting to rush through those years. Edit: On a simlar note, it's a lot harder to tell what a person's age is. This makes dating a little harder, especially early twenties, when people you're interested in actually turn out to be underage. It gets better around mid twenties though, both for avoiding underage people, and also just not caring about age gaps as much.

I'm currently 28. My advice for others (especially in their early 20s) is stop being so damn hard on yourself! Stop having unrealistic expectations for yourself. Stop comparing your life with others, we all have our own journey. It is okay to fail, that is a vital part to your growth. You don't progress in life striving for perfection (it actually does the opposite. our fear of failure stops us from taking opportunities), you should focus on persistence. Nothing will magically fall into your lap overnight, you have to be patient and gradually chip away at your goals in life. That's what the older people were trying to say about "hard work". Good luck random person reading this, you got this!

I wish I had the drive and confidence in my early twenties that you've had. I still struggle with it, and I'm almost 32. Your parents did something right, that's for sure. I discovered your channel sometime during the early part of the pandemic in 2020. I've always found your videos to be very grounding, encouraging, and relaxing to watch. You just make me feel better about life. That maybe things aren't so bad, and that they can get better. I'm trying to make things better. Keep doing what you're doing because you're pretty great at it. I hope you're doing well and I'm sure you'll find that you've made your 25 year old self very proud.

Here I am 25 and wanting to dye my hair blonde during my quarter-life crisis. Sprinting truly used to be my style in my earlier 20s. And I burned out multiple times. Now I think I fell off to the other end and now I feel like life is passing me by. Gahd. I should take a painting or photography class. Your point about friends...yes. I have two best friends that I’ve known since high school, and I love them, but I don’t really connect with them on a spiritual, emotional, and mental level. It’s more of...we’ve been through a lot together and we know each other. But I can never really talk to them seriously about my thoughts and dreams. I do hope to meet people like I connect with on a much deeper level soon.

Hey Nathaniel, about finding friends to be a part of your life, I can see how it's hard to do so if you're not in school or at a 9-5. Throughout my life I never felt like I had deep meaningful relationships, until at my first day of college (3,5 years ago) I met my best friend. It's amazing to have such a deep connection with someone who's not my girlfriend or my family (even though he is now). I also clicked incredibly with a guy that I met online on a course we were both doing. Even though he's german and I'm brazilian. What I'm trying say is I would make it a goal to network and develop meaningful connections, and it's way easier to make those connections by meeting people who are on a course or event that you are interested in. Also, if you haven't done so already, I would learn pickup. It's an amazing social tool, not just for dating but for making friends. I recommend RSD (RSDTyler or RSDMax) for that. Congrats on pursuing your dream and succeeding so young, I'm sure you still have a long road filled with wins ahead of you.

Nathaniel, look man I'm 19 years old and I was basically in the same boat as you, constantly trying to be productive and challenge myself to prove to myself I could do whatever I set my mind to. Well guess what, you've proven it to yourself. It's time for you to relax, you are going down in a spiral I can see it coming. you're pushing people away it's not that people are afraid or uncomfortable with rawness it's that you are projecting that image onto other people. Don't try so hard, relax. When you were just walking and playing with your camera you could tell you were a chilled out fun guy. Don't get lost in the sauce, don't tell yourself that's just who you are, don't give into the mind and be it's slave stop moving and the shackles will become loose. This may seem harsh but you need a reality check, as much as you might have some aspects of yourself together they will fall apart sooner or later when you realize you're just playing a big game. DM me if you need. The last thing you want to be is jaded. Trust me

OMG @NathanielDrew i Hope you read this: Ok, so when i was your age i was just like you trying to figure out every single aspect of my life so fast and striving to conquer every good habit i felt i needed to have in my life and i got seriously sick bc in reality i was so ambitious and such a perfectionist setting myself standards so high and always wanting to better myself it was unhealthy. After watching your video i needed to stop and tell you and anyone else out there not to make the same mistakes. Now, being 29 just realised all of the following: You are already doing great, you do you and you will inevitably go places (pretty much like gravity which we just dont question). Be kind to yourself and take your sweet time to slowly but surely better yourself. You have a lifetime to do so many good things and figure out what are the most important things to YOU, this can (and usually does) change in time and thats ok too. Dont listen to your overthinking, sometimes you need to just make your own mistakes which are life' s opportunities to help you grow and change your thinking pattern, as well as take responsability for your actions. There is a time for everything, dont undervalue your most basic needs. And about being raw and going in deph, keep your eyes open and you will find like-minded folks, feeling relieved everytime you speak and listen to them. Dont feel silly asking for advice/help or talking about your feeling and ideas. Allow yourself to feel every feeling to a healthy degree and last but not least: you are not alone. If you feel youre about to break try breaking a physical item (no one will need and doesnt belong to anybody else of course) instead, find ways to let toxins in your body out as well as negative thoughts. Always, always smile, find the good in others but also in yourself (without being cocky lol)... Anyway this is my letter to my younger self. I will continue with my life now I Hope it helps, Im not saying i discovered anything new or i got all the answers, we just need to hear this once in a while. Ps: Enjoy the beautiful country you live in right now and make the most of it. See you around 😊

This reminds me of being in my early twenties.. Feeling so guilty about wasting time, being so serious about reaching my perceived goals. When I turned 25, though, I was surprised at how much more playful I allowed myself to be. It seems that in my early twenties I had this illusion of being able to control most of my life, where at 25 I realized life can be really messy. I felt relieved to let go a little and be silly, just for the fun of it.

I got really emotional watching this video, especially when you spoke about having the friends that you click with. I've always felt like an outcast in this sense, you make me feel less alone. Thank you for your content, it really is valuable to me.

I relate very strongly to not having found "my people" yet. It has been much more difficult to meet friends as an adult (I'm 26) than I expected - people who make it past casual kinship, people you truly connect with on a deeper level. I have been making an effort to put myself out there more, but I'm also looking for people who aren't uncomfortable with depth and I agree it's hard to find. I refuse to give up hope!

Hey man! I wanted to comment on you talking about your worries about whether or not you're responsible enough to handle the audience that you've garnered. Obviously, those fears have logical roots. You don't want to make mistakes or misguide people, but what I wanted to say is that regardless of what you put out, you just simply being yourself is enough. Watching you do things that interest you is extremely inspiring to me, as well as to countless others that are subscribed to you. Your videos have inspired me to take the first leap in creating my first ever film project! I just finished writing up a script, now I'm shooting b-roll to go with it, and I'm waiting for a mic I ordered to come in so I can film my script, edit it, and then post it to KZbin, and I couldn't have done it without seeing you doing it and loving it. Just keep staying true to yourself man. If you are feeling productive, keep on creating, and when you feel overwhelmed that's totally okay, take breaks for yourself and relax. You don't owe us, the audience anything, we are just happy to participate in your journey through life, and watching you go through life is inspiring me and others to embrace our experiences as well! I love you man and truly wish you the happiest of days to come!

I know it's super hard to make friends that understand and share the interest for the complexity of life (as a Mexican it has been really really hard), usually young people don't like to take a deep look at their own lives, but for people like us that think it's one of the ways we can get the best out of it, sometimes it meas walking alone from time to time, or most of the time, depending on our circumstances.

Damn, we're the same age and it's so weird but also super fun to be growing and experimenting through life along with you. I love being able to get the perspective from your side because we all go through similar stuggles in life. Also, that ''depth'' you talked about is precisely why I enjoy your content. You're not afraid to be real, you're insightful and funny it almost feels like I'm listening to an actual friend when I watch your videos. Thank you for sharing.

Its nice to know im not the only one feeling these things. Everything will happen. And we got time!

i'm 19, a filipino. i discovered nathaniel few months ago (month of april to be exact) and ever since i try to really really control my life. i deleted my social media apps (not youtube), i unfollowed a lot of people and celebrities and also brands. i started doing 10 minutes meditation, i sucked but it's okay, i forgive myself. i started journaling, and really listening to my thoughts. (the most memorable one was when i just finished meditating then one of the roots of my fear pops out. a part of my childhood that really contributed up to this day to grow that fear of people's opinion) it was an eye opening for me. i read books before (fictions and romance novels to be exact) but i stopped because college happened but now i'm starting to read again. not fictions or novels but self development books (currently reading: ESSENTIALISM by Greg McKeown) and i LOVE it. Nathaniel gives me a piece of advice that no youtuber or a family member would had taught me. He taught me how to live. He taught me to embrace solitude, art, time, peace and freedom of living your life. i'm just 19, no title, no job, still in college, no girlfriend, not famous nor popular, have only few friends and i condsider them my second home (i knew them since 3rd grade, and even though we are in college we are still solid as hell) i havent really experience the deep meaning of life but i'm greatful. i'm happy. i'm at peace. and to you who is reading this, i hope you find that peace your soul is craving for. life is worth living.
