What i find extremly funny is how Max changed his ways. He just decided to be good, but had no real idea what that even means. So since he was a supervillain he just did whatever the opposite if his first instinct was.

There's a whole table top game based around it basically the longer you stay awake the more powers you get, but the worse your stats are, and when you do go to sleep it sets off dinner bells for any monsters nearby. it's a race to the bottom to see if you can complete your goals before your body gives out/monsters eat you because you slept too long and lost your powers

It has a crappy side effect of numbing his sensations as it kicks in though, so he gets like 5 minutes of feeling normal when he wakes up and then he can no longer taste or feel anything. The reason he always has that 5 o clock shadow is because one of the first things he does after waking up is shaving quickly so that his hair doesn’t become too tough for the razor.

The best part of that comic is that Plutonian ended up being the savior of the universe in the end, and it is cannon that Plutonian transcended the plane of his existence and became source-origin for Superman’s lore (cannon since both parties/right holders gave green light to that).
