The yellow pitcher and glasses set was made by WV Glass Co. Blendo glass was made by West Virginia Glass Company and was really popular in the 1950s and 60s and is still relatively easy to find now. Blendo glass is characterized by a bright neon/pastel solid base that fades as it goes up the glass and a gold rim.

Oh how I miss the 50s :( I am an old soul trapped in the 20th Century now lol. When I started watching your videos for nostalgia one song in particular from my days in the 50s was Strange by Patsy Cline. I am considered Strange because I am an young old soul living in 2022. Love all the pyrex, I have a collection of my own. The yellow 1 1/2 qt dish with the lid was actually called a Hostess Casserole from 1949 - 1953 . It came with the 1 1/2 qt casserole dish (015) and 4 - 7 oz ramekins (407) with lids. It came in either Autumn Red or Harvest Yellow for the whooping price of $2.50, and you could buy matching individual dishes with lids for 39¢. You were also able to purchase just the casserole dish for $1.95 and came originally in Autumn Red and Harvest Yellow, later there are also variations in bright turquoise with matching lid and forest green (with a clear lid) There was also a Hostess Oven and Table Set. It came with the 2 1/2 qt dish (025) withOUT the lid and 4 matching 12 oz matching ramekins (410). Amazing that the original price was $2.95 and you could purchase extra small bowls for just 29¢ !!!! And again you could purchase just the 2 1/2 qt casserole in the Red or Yellow, and later came variations in color like Dove Gray, Pink Dessert Dawn, Patel Pink and Charcoal. I am just a novice collector but I love all things Pyrex. It started from when my mom had the Primary Colors Mixing Bowls and it grew from there. I live for the hunt and when I find a new piece I have to know the whole story behind it. Happy collecting, love your collection!!

Lovely. I hope you use your Pyrex! I use my refrigerator dishes all the time for leftovers. It’s zero waste…no plastic! Especially love not needing the nasty plastic wrap. Makes the inside of the fridge into such a wonderful display. As a kid it bugged me I couldn’t see what’s in the fridge, but now I love my no plastic Pyrex. The yellow bowl, which I’m sure you know is part of a set, is my bread rising bowl. It’s simply perfect for that.

I love Pyrex too, although my kitchen is done in more of a 1930's-1940's color theme. As a result, I use the Primary color sets more. I have the primary mixing bowls and refrigerator dish set. I use the large refrigerator dish to store eggs in the fridge l. Cut the lid off of a styrofoam egg carton, then cut the bottom in half short-ways (so that you have a set of 3 rows of 2 egg cups). Then just put them in the large refrigerator dish so that you have 3 rows of 4 egg cups and, voila! You can store a dozen eggs in it and I swear, it keeps the eggs fresher longer. That's why I also store milk in glass milk bottles, it gives me 3-4 extra days of fresh milk. Love your videos!

It looks lovely. I have my mom’s china in my hutch. My dad purchased it in Germany when he was stationed there in 1957. They’re white plates with thin gold rims and a silver almost Greek key looking pattern as the trim. The only thing that dates it as mid-century modern is the shape of the coffee cups and pot and soup tureen. I don’t use it much because it has to be hand washed and is delicate.

Love seeing YOU …and all your Pyrex! I saw that drink set the other day on Mrs Maysel!! That yellow square casserole with yellow lid was also made in red. Production was 1950 to 1953, there were also sets of 4 ramekins. This is what I found in my Pyrex Passion Book….love that book!(not being paid to say that).
