“I love Lilly’s honest and helpful advice about achieving happiness.”-Mindy Kaling
“It’s time to flip right side up. It’s time for this book title to make sense. It’s time to be a triangle.”
Everyone-even world-famous actress, author, and creator Lilly Singh-knows that sometimes life just sucks. In this book, Singh provides a safe space where readers can learn how to create a sense of peace within themselves. Without sugarcoating what it’s like to face adversity-including acknowledging her own intensely personal struggles with identity, success, and self-doubt-Singh teaches readers to “unsubscribe” from cookie-cutter ideals. She spoke with Priyanka Chopra Jonas on April 6, 2022.

I appreciate you putting internal thought processes and struggles that many people go through, and Lilly you are correct in stating that it is not simply just south Asian communities, it really is with all communities especially as it relates to women. Letting go of the toxic conduct of our cultures and societies specific to women is paramount to ensure progression and breaking that pattern as Priyanka noted is essential to ensuring a more progressive and self-focused/societal focused journey forward

I really appreciated Lilly's take on how this..'log kya sochenge?' or 'what will people think' concept is actually a survival technique. I have always looked at my parents pressure for me to pick a certain career path as part of their survival conditioning because as immigrants, when you come with $5 in your pocket and have to claw your way up to financial security... of course you want that security for your children from the get go. But growing up I constantly resented this notion that I needed to behave in a way that was not only acceptable to my parents, but also their friend circle. I had NEVER connected the dots before on how if they didn't seem like 'good people' to the small close-knit community of other Indians they had gathered that their entire support system would crumble... and then who would they call on when there was an emergency? People out in India who can't get there to help? And this is made all more poignant for me personally, because ten years ago both of my parents ended up critically ill back-to-back and for a full 2 year period as an only child I relied heavily on all the connections they had made from a lifetime of give ^ take with 5 or 6 other Indian families nearby..to help me care for my parents, and cook meals, and show up at the hospital to express their concern, etc. Without those aunties, uncles, etc. I would have sufferred even more crisis than I already did from being suddenly thrown into the role of being a caregiver. Thank you so much for this insight Lilly! Hope you stay blessed forever

Why did she react so weirdly when Lilly said “ congratulations.” By poking out her tongue, nervously says thanks, and continues on with whatever rehearsed lines.

Your name is Infinity Stone? 🤔haven't you heard Priyanka is actually a lead on a $165M series directed by The Russo Brothers so she is in fact relevant without really trying much...

@@jyannananana1717 she was the FL in Quantico also that was a major disaster, hence bombed. Let's not forget the many Indian movies she was a lead in, that flopped at bo. So yeah...bombed career Also, do you actually think my name is Infinity Stone? 😏

@@infinitystone7931 Girl, get lost with your negativity, Quantico did not last long but it definitely puts her name on the map meaning that many of us learned about her from Quantico, Baywatch and even 'We can be heroes' and others. She also has some movies coming out soon so she is definitely doing well for herself. It is simple, if you don't like her, don't waste your time watching her videos.

@@infinitystone7931 did you actually thought that I was thinking your real name is Infinity Stone? Like whose parents would name their child that? That's a very stupid assumption 🤡 Of course it has to be because you're an MCU fan, the term "Infinity Stone" is only used now but in the comics those are called "Infinity Gems"... You have to be just a toddler for your parents to name you Infinity Stones based on those Marvel Items... unless you yourself change your actual name but who tf would do that?? Why tf?

"12 years old talking about lilly".. Lilly's stage talks aren't meant for kids. Stop making up stories just to butter her up Priyanka.
