A visit to Furness Abbey

Heading into Barrow I followed the signs for Furness Abbey. It is not easy to find. Traffic was very busy. It was mid afternoon and it was chucking out time for the schools. The Abbey is managed by English Heritage, it was £8 to get in. I'm glad I made the effort to stop and have a look around. It was amazing.

It is amazing how grass was planted Within and without the crumbling structure. To me , it’s beauty in the imperfect. You have such beautiful historical buildings in England. I have been enjoying . Where to next ??!! Can’t wait ! ❤ Marilyn USA xx

Furness Abbey is just down the road from me. I've passed it hundreds of times but haven't been inside the grounds since I was a child. Thanks for the tour.
