The knee joint is a vital weight-bearing joint that connects the lower leg-bones, the tibia and fibula, providing stability and support. Within the joint, the lateral and medial meniscus act as shock absorbers, enhancing stability during movement. The medial collateral ligament and lateral collateral ligament prevent excessive side-to-side movement, ensuring joint stability. The anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament prevent forward and backward movement of the tibia, maintaining balance. Cartilage covers the joint surfaces, reducing friction and enabling smooth movement, promoting joint health. The femur, the upper leg-bone, and the patella, known as the kneecap, contribute to overall stability, structure, and function. Together, these components form the intricate anatomy of the knee-joint, supporting our daily activities and allowing us to move with ease. #shorts #3d #animation #knee #tibia #cartilage #femur #ligament

Surprised at people in the comment section as if there aren't parts of our body that are either completely vestigial, exaptational or just downright suboptimal. However I can still admire the amazing structures natural selection has brought about and what it has slowly tinkered and make done with for our & other species survival. Look behind the curtain of 'intelligent design' and 'god' and you'll find true beauty and wonder that is rational and not dependant on the existence of some divine being.

I'd suggest your making the moment when the parts of the leg show up - at the end of the video - last a bit longer, so that one can pause.

1. Femur, TIBIA & FIBULA = Bones, Patella = Knee cap (Overall function of movement) 2. Medial Meniscus & Lateral Meniscus - a type of cartilage in your knee that cushions and stabilizes the joint 3. Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL), Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) - Joint stability during side movements 4. Anterior & Posterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL & PCL) - which is a ligament that helps stabilize the knee joint during forward & backward movements 5. Cartilage - Smooth movement

@@Tetus7 it is the awareness that we humans have, the ability to think and understand the world. If humans now with all the technology, their absolute will and intelligence can't build a simple cell, then how can such a random and mindless phenomenon create all these impressive creatures? And how can something unaware create awareness?
@Tetus7
@Tetus7 4 ай бұрын
@@daymarelc869 Humans are not working with the same timescales as nature. We have had computers for less than a century. In contrast, it took billions of years for simple, single-celled organisms to evolve into organisms with complex nervous systems ostensibly capable of consciousness. Do you fully appreciate what "billions of years" means? It is an unfathomable amount of time, over which trillions of tiny incremental changes to DNA added up to create a complex tree of life. It is a beautiful thing. We are also not very good at DNA manipulation, but advancements are being made in this space (GMOs). There is also AI of course, which may soon join us in presenting an illusion of consciousness. On consciousness itself, it is an emergent property of a sufficiently complex nervous system. There is nothing special about it from a biological point of view, and no reason it could not emerge from billions of years of evolution.
