Father thank you for your videos. Please father keep me in your prayers. I have a question regarding heaven, who will go to heaven ? What must one do to inherit the kingdom of heaven?
@FatherSpyridonROCOR6 жыл бұрын
Hello Sally, Jesus calls us to love even as God loves, and yet we fail. But our failure must not dishearten us, each time we fall we must get up, repent, seek God's forgiveness and trust in His mercy. God's desire for our salvation is greater than our own, and so we must seek to be obedient to His commandments. None of us has the ability to say whether someone else is or isn't going to be saved, we can only trust in God and pray that He will forgive us. Do not let the demons rob you of hope, Christ knows our weaknesses, He understands us, He was willing to die for us even while we are corrupt - be assured that God loves you. God bless you.

Father, would it be a sin to pursue a music career? If I werent to give into the worldliness that it would ensue? If God seemingly directed me to do such a thing? If I did it and brought glory to God? I wouldnt even ask but this was seemingly put in front of me as my path during an intense spiritual religious experience. I understand the complete vanity of it but again, believe me when I say I was given the okay from God and specifically Jesus Christ (I think any way.. I know nothing really)

Yuji Jiyu I don't miss being like you.
@yujijiyu6866 жыл бұрын
Letz What do you mean by that? Gotta give me more than that.
@FatherSpyridonROCOR6 жыл бұрын
Hello Yuji, there are many devout Christians who work in the arts. We can be overcome by the passions in any walk of life, whether we are a banker, a priest, a soldier and so on, but whatever we do in life, we are to remain faithful to God. I understand your concern about the particular dangers of performance, as it easy to become proud when we have an audience, but it can be done. My greater concern would be in trusting in what you describe as "intense spiritual religious experiences". The reason I say this is that we can very easily be fooled by the demons when we trust in these kinds of things, and it is essential that we talk to our spiritual father or confessor about them before allowing them to have an effect on our decisions. Test these things out carefully. God bless you.

Father i am a brand new convert.. Both my wife and i were baptized on Palm Sunday...we were both raised in a Pentecostal church....i am tatooed and i have two tatoos on my right hand....i feel inspired to work towards deacon even priesthood but i am told that i am disqualified because i have tatoos from serving in the altar....i said if i was raised in Orthodox i would not have these stupid tatoos...i am called to be an evangelist....my name is Phillip....does the Orthodox church allow lay evangelists ?
@FatherSpyridonROCOR5 жыл бұрын
Hello Ram, there are plenty of lay people who work in incredible ways to share the faith but not in an official role with title like lay evangelist. I understand your difficulty here and can only say that rather than being ashamed of the tattoos you should let them be a visible reminder of the change in your life and a prompt to thank God.
