This was a brilliant video. I'll be totally honest in saying that I had a bit of a tear in my eye whilst I was watching 😊 I'm so glad you could talk about all this and be able to be so open and honest on a KZbin video which will be seen by many. I'm sure there are many other people out there who have similar circumstances in their lives and would not be confident enough to talk about them, so hats off to you for making this video. I've no doubt this will inspire lots of people to gain more confidence and to get out there and enjoy walking. I for one am very glad to know you both now and look forward to walking with you again really soon 😊👍

We're glad this video moved you. We didn't expect it to go down as well as it did to be honest so hopefully we have helped other people in a similar situation to relate and know they're not alone. It was shot just before we came down with Covid last year, we'll never forget 😬 Glad we came across your channel and that we're now walking buddies for life 😉

Thank you for posting this.. I am currently awaiting a diagnosis as I have believed for a long time now I have aspergers. I'm 44 and have just kind of coped in my own way but have suffered with anxiety and depression. But in the last 12 months I have had 3 separate people who work with adults with ASD tell me they believe I have aspergers. My quirks as I like to call them are I'm a meticulous planner, planning holidays 12 months in advance, re checking my drive to places on Google maps, planning walks, having folders full of walks I'll probably never do, I am hypersensitive to lots of different noise, so family get togethers are hell for me. Like you I have a very supportive partner. Totally agree walking is a fantastic medicine. Thank you again for sharing your story.
@LouandLolsTravels3 жыл бұрын
We can relate to everything you've said, in particularly the preparing for holidays. Even going for a week in Derbyshire (before lockdown) we were preparing like two weeks in advance. The thought of leaving things to the last minute makes us nervous, don't know how some people do that. We would be interested in hearing about your diagnosis if you don't mind x

@@LouandLolsTravels not had one yet. I applied through our local autism hub last May and I'm still waiting to have tests. Over a 12 month waiting list. I've been referred by Dr for 2nd round of CBT which I didn't find useful

Aw guys, absolutely loved this video, you are both so brave, thank you Lauren for sharing your challenges and your story with us🥰. The honesty in this video left a lump in my throat. I think we all have our challenges. I know hiking for us has helped us overcome a lot of personal traumas, from losing my mum and aunt, and petes dad. I also have a twin sister with severe mental health issues. Our anxiety particularly in social situations over the years has grown. It is so great to see you guys put yourselves out there on a platform like you tube. We hope you get lots of support for your fantastic channel from this, and we look forward to checking out lots more of your videos. Take care, Shell and Pete😊👍
