A Walk Around Helsinki Central Railway Station, Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki Central Station is the main station for commuter rail and long-distance trains departing from Helsinki, Finland. The station is used by approximately 400,000 people per day, of which about 200,000 are passengers. It serves as the terminus for all trains in the Helsinki commuter rail network, as well as for all Helsinki-bound long-distance trains in Finland. The Central Railway Station metro station is located in the same building.
The station building was designed by Eliel Saarinen and inaugurated in 1919. Helsinki Central was chosen as one of the world's most beautiful railway stations by BBC in 2013.

I was referring to the trains at the platforms. From my part of the world they can be rather dull looking but those in Helsinki looked very modern and large, double decker I noticed in one case, but still looked very nice. Thanks for sharing the video, I hope to see the station for myself in January. Do have a hotel to recommend? regards, Brian.

A went AirBnB in Helsinki. Found a great place right in the city center. Had the whole apt. To my self.

Those are swiss Stadler Flirts caalled sm5 (sähkömoottori, electric motor) basically EMUs which are used by HSL (Helsinki regional transport) for commuter services all around the capital city area. The Finnish rolling stock is very very diverse so here is just one part of the rollinh stock :)

All the locals were not happy a historic Art Deco restaurant was turned to a Burger King.. The interior is protected though.

@@mickeskogen3184 Have You even ever been there? There are almost none of them. There is also a police office at the station, so it is not a very good place for addicts.
