Nuit Blanche is a yearly event that happens at the end of September. There are art installations around the city and from 7pm to 7am you can wander around, experiencing them. This can include everything from visual art, spoken word, music, dance and films. This year they decided to split up Nuit Blanche into different areas. We visited downtown Toronto, but there were also areas in the North, West and East burbs of Toronto. You will want to walk, ride a bike and take transit to experience Nuit Blanche. Do not drive, you will spend all night sitting in your car.
There are many cool installations that did not make it into this video. That is because to see them I would have had to wait 1 hour or longer, and that did not interest me. So, it is best if you can plan your evening and decide in advance which installations you want to wait for, and which ones you can pass on.
I have attended Nuit Blanche many times in the past and to be honest, this years seemed a little lack lustre to me. I found some of the 'exhibits' are actually there all year long. And the lines were just too long to see some of the others. I also feel by moving probably half of the exhibits out of the downtown core, left us wanting more.
With that being said, Nuit Blanche is a free event and is still worth going out and experiencing, especially on a beautiful evening.
