Truly helpful for the non techy pensioner , most appreciated as I bought my lovely green design 2024 plate from a used dealer who sells multi brands who also is a pensioner so he wasn't up on the tech side . You mention it could be a little more intuitive or have more in depth info via the tablet/screen and possibly a larger info screen behind steering wheel . It's really a 20 odd grand car . Import duties , vat , transport costs from China along with UK dealer margins on low selling volumes bumps up the price tag considerably.

With regards to updates they will be heavily monitored by the government and certain things that are allowed in other countries will not be allowed here, this already happens with the phones we use and is the same with all types of car here not just Chinese brands. Just simple things like it might be allowed to watch KZbin whilst driving in one country but it's not allowed here, so they won't include KZbin in a uk update etc

I am informed that BYD have recently stopped all third party app uploads and if circumvented will invalidate warranty.

As Ian said not worth issues with warranty. What I will say is most apps like Netflix prime you tube are coming with software updates.

no Marlon, in fact in Uk we dont even get the dash cam set up like they do in OZ

You mention how odd it is the car doesn’t have auto wipers, do you not find it stranger that they didn’t put a sensor in the washer fluid bottle. Been caught short a couple of times. Also has anyone else’s data allowance been cut? I’m sure i used to get 2gd but now i only get 1gb. Well annoying when it seems to want to keep half a gb so wont let me use Spotify apart from having to use my own data via carplay

"It doesn’t have a heated steering wheel" Huh... so it doesn’t. Weird thing to miss off the spec sheet! Maybe they think the battery is big enough to preheat all the time but then why include heated seats...

Thanks for video, great info since I ordered one. Makes me giggle when brits always half video explaining radio settings...🤣 All reviewers should start with exploring infotaiment. Because when they start cons and pros, most of those cons can be disabled or enabled in infotainment in EV nowadays. Otherwise they misleading people, like "O look BYD have constant condensation inside". Even watched very famous EV specialist in 40 min video driving 1000km with fogged windows. While theres option to enable/disable recirculation on low speeds automatically. One question seems to be not answered for me-do this car have separate speed limiter? Anyone knows? Thanks

You probably mean a certain Chinese gentleman from Norway I watched that video too lol, he didn't realize he had the pre heat setting switched on so every time he charged the car and locked it the heating system kicked in!

@@Philltbag wonder maybe car battery management is fully via cabin heater and AC? So only way to raise battery temp into optimal is start heating whole car? no clue here lol
