A Walk Through Skipton Castle and Woodland. North Yorkshire.

Skipton Castle is a Grade 1 listed from medieval times. Built in 1090, the castle has stood strong for over 930 years.
A near perfect defensive structure due it its location on a cliff, it survived numerous attacks, wars and political machinations.
Today, the castle is roughly in two sections. One half for visitors to explore, one half lived in as a private residence.

We have a story set in those woods to cover, goes back to the 1930s. Apparently there are or were tunnels that lead from the woods and into the grounds of the castle. They are probably well concealed now and hidden from the public, but it would be interesting to have a scout around and maybe find some clues of their once existence.

I can well imagine, as there are some noticeable quarries and paths hidden away behind the trees off the walked paths. Good luck with the search when you go 😊

I went on a school trip when I was in primary school and they turned the lights off in dungeon so you could see how dark it was l screamed my head off lol 😂😂😂😂
