It's a rare sight to see a soldier of the King´s Guard walking through the yard. of Horse Guards. But does anyone know what's behind the door?

This is the military Headquarters of London District and the Household Division, where all the ceremonial is also organised. On the 1st Floor, overlooking the parade ground, is the Major General's Office (I watched a parade from there, as a child) and includes the Duke of Wellington's desk and amazing portraits and other works of art - it's a military building.

That's WO1 David (George) Roper. His appointment isn't the Regimental Sergeant Major 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards. He is the SuperIntending Clerk HQ London District Household Division. His regiment is certainly 1st Guard.
