Holy Lens Cap! There were sso many situations you described in this video, which I related to from my own personal life, I turned the volume down cos I felt awkward watching this with others in the house. (I know, weird right?) Beautifully shot btw! 👍 I kinda felt kicked in the soft tissues last year, and then got knock out, twice, while still down, so I've been in the retrospective mood myself while simultaneously trying to get a grip on "WTF do I do now". If one happens to be dealt a health card which spells out how the game ends - that's hard to reconcile with. Especially since one is aware, one would have had applied different tactics to play the game from the beginning. For other cards... you kinda play along as you go. Film Riot have this slogan "Write. Shoot. Edit. Repeat." As I was pondering things for the umpteenth million time, I thought that one could parallel their slogan as a figurative framework for life. In my case, there seemed to be a slack structure. I'd do sh!t (that would be as in "shooting") which I didn't intend ("write"), because I thought I'd score good points (or be liked). And then, instead of re-evaluating it afterwards ("editing") and specifying ("writing") what i should do next time, I would just do more random sh!t as before. I think I was on "shoot" and "repeat" cycle without the intent. I think the "decision" would be the part glueing the elements of the above process. A decision denotes intent, and intent requires attention. If one pays attention, awareness kicks in... And before I start sounding like Tony Robins may I just say I like the subliminal of the t-shirt. 😀 That got me thinking about something else. In round abound way Jeremy Griffith's work on human condition... What if the question of being stuck is just a facade of moving forward in life anyway? Unless you're dead, no matter what you do in life it is still progressing. From my perspective you've created a 14 minute prime documentary here, which easily outshines many network-grade productions. And as far my mind is concerned this work has been put together so well that the question itself became secondary to the experience of watching the video and later a good coupe of hours of thinking about it. And I can't even tell, whether this was your intention all along or not.

I am glad the video resonated with you! I think this is something we all as humans often face but we all deal with it in different ways. I hear you with the health stuff! I find that health issues are the one thing that can STOP a person in their tracks! Health issues cause a person to evaluate the things that are PRIORITY and meaningful over all other things! I used to listen to tony Robbins a lot because of how matter of fact he was in so many situations. I also used to watch a lot of Gary Vee then one day they did a podcast together which was amazing! When they both speak, they make complicated things seem effortless and simple! I also like the topic you brought up concerning progressing in life unless you are dead. I think this is a VERY important point to bring up because death is truly the only thing that stop all things from progressing forward. I find that when death is on my mind (in a positive way) I am able to make BETTER decisions as well! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback!👍🏾

I only make bad decisions so my formula is crap. I really liked the way this video looked--sometimes it looked like it had a really slow shutter speed probably because low light (like in the car shots) but I thought it was really cool, definitely a vibe.

😂 Your formula can’t be that bad that you ONLY make bad decisions! 😂 As far as the low light scenes the camera didn’t do too bad. I kept it manually set to 24fps and shutter at 1/50. I haven’t watched it through KZbin but it looked fine after exporting it. I’ll have to check it out here! 🤔 Thanks for watching! 👍🏾

Oh you're good. I didn't take it as you were saying anything negative.. you were just asking a question. 😊 I hadn't looked at the uploaded KZbin video when you first made your comment, just the exported video. I am curious to know the timestamps though. I want to see what's going on. 🤔 Thanks again for the feedback! 👍🏾

The shirt, so smart! Also, I can relate so much to this video. To be honest, I'm having a bit of decision fatigue lately, wondering if i did the right thing by blowing up my life... or if I should just go back to my old life. My decision-making process is maybe a bit too impulsive. Loved this video, so much to reflect on

Hey Lucinda! Good to see you here! I know exactly what you mean when you talk about decision overload! The process of analyzing, investigating, verifying and executing can be EXHAUSTING! I think it's GREAT to have mentors or someone to confide in to help walk us through decisions. I am learning how valuable "experienced" people are! They can truly add value to our lives by giving confirmation or even advice that helps us make better decisions. I don't know the ins and outs of what you are faced with but from the outside looking in, you seem to be headed in the right direction! It's ONLY a matter of time before you get to where you want to be! I'm 100% confident you will exceed your expectations! Thanks for watching and leaving positive feedback!👍🏾

Yes! More please. It was like a mini movie. I've felt the same way sometimes. Life's a journey even when you feel like you're just treading water. BTW, what were you using to clean your tub? A mop? I need to know lol. Great video. Thx

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, life is ALWAYS work no matter what! It’s also work to keep working at making life work! 😳 😂 at cleaning the bathtub with a mop! It was something my wife got from the dollar store I think. It’s called The Homitt. There a bunch of different names but just look up “electric spin scrubber”. It works pretty well actually. The bristles are pretty stiff and cleans up any hard water stains easily! Thanks for watching and thanks again for the feedback! 👍🏾

Man, you really made that camera sing! How did you manage to get the lighting in the car like that? I can’t imagine it handles low light well or has incredible dynamic range, but you certainly made it look like it. Most impressive of all, the way you set up each shot to carry the story was spectacular. Was that a creative choice to shoot at 16fps to enhance your theme of being stuck with past decisions while life rushes by? That said, I have to add one thing: I don’t think you should take on most of the responsibility for being cheated on. If this is you practicing extreme ownership, I totally get it. But at the end of the day, the decision to cheat was 100% theirs. It wasn’t just about them deciding not to be in a relationship with you-that happens-but they chose to lie and betray trust. A mature person would have ended things gracefully and then moved on.

The camera is actually a pretty decent camera. It has a fixed lens which only digitally zooms. This limitation actually pushed me to create different shots than what I normally do! I think I may release a challenge that encourages people to use one focal length to shoot an entire video! As far as the car scene, I actually used an inflatable LED light that I will review here shortly! It comes in handy in A LOT of situations and it quick and simple to implement into shots! I actually didn't change my shutter speed during that sequence, it's just that I was sitting still watching a Netflix movie trailer!😄 I agree with you on being 100% blame for being cheated on however, I have learned that taking ownership of my part would have made deleted the opportunity for those women to cheat on me. In other words, had I been where I needed to be, they would have never had the chance to do what they did. So I take the blame for being a people pleaser. I agree that they were wrong as well but I can't control what they did, just my actions. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave feedback! It's always good to see you here on the channel! 👍🏾

@PurposedLensPhotoMedia mate - it was beneficial. You reached into my brain and made something just click. I’ve been in the video games industry for 20 years. I’ve mostly been in marketing, but spent time in production and direction too. I’ve been development director on 3 Star Wars games at EA/DICE. I’ve been CMO at indie labels and startups. I’ve built one of the largest gaming community platforms out there. But I cannot for the life of me navigate American work culture. I’m British. The concepts of respect and courtesy, connected to “doing the right thing” is common in England and culture (or it was). So when I navigated the corporate ladder at EA for 10 years, I found it easy to get roles, but hard to get leadership to respect my suggestions and reasoning. TL;DR I have spent 20 years people pleasing under the auspices of “wanting to do the right thing and just make rad games”. Literally spoke with my therapist about your vid and how it was a bit of a wake up call. So yeah. Amazing. But your vid on the Sigma lens was amazing so I started watching your other content. Really really legit good stuff. You’ve got a talent for being in front of the camera, let alone behind it. Mad respect mate.

Hey hope you see this and write back in time. First of I think you have some of the best/informative videos on KZbin. You do it write. Question is Used MacBook Pro m1 16GB 512GB or i9 32GB 1TB? For editing First things first in a sound engineer but I’m getting into video. Been photographer for a long time also.

Thanks for the kind words! I HIGHLY recommend Apple Silicon! I would 100% go with the M1. Performance is going to be great because you don't have to worry about HEAT! Heat is the thing that cripples the Intel Macbook pros. The other BIG advantage is going to be battery life on the M1 platform. I have an M2 Macbook which allow me to get 6+ hours of editing in Davinci resolve. This is doing 4k ProRes 4:2:2 footage. I also do photo editing in Lightroom on my Macbook as well. I have never had any issues with it. I do HIGHLY recommend getting a fast SSD to put your media on. Something like the Samsung T series drives are great for this! I hope this help! 👍🏾 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!

@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia perfect! I asked my friend whose a big time sound engineer and you said the exact same thing he did. Thanks for confirming it. I do my photography on a canon 5d which I have a ton of lenses but I’m out of state and honestly don’t want to use it for video. I’m thinking about either sv-e10 or possibly going up to 6700. Was going to do e10ii until I saw your video. What’s your thought on this.

So, your decision formula is sound and very well thought out; perhaps I would suggest to also sometimes try and not overthink things to much. Moreover, sometimes it's better to rely on your gut and, and it's a big and - your ability to adapt in a moment. Have some faith in yourself. Now hear me out, I think maybe you need to move on to something else as your focus. Almost all your vids have lessons about life incorporated into them and I think you'd do well building a channel around that. You ever see the better ideas channel; this could be your niche. I obviously know you only through the lens of your channel but based on that - you're a teacher, and I think you've kind of hit a bit of wall with film. This channel is dope and you keep getting me back into film through it so I hope you don't drop it fully, but I feel like you can do better, or rather I feel like you can do something that will be better for you, more rewarding. Again though, I don't really know you so take it with a grain of salt, but at the very least it would be wise to let the above simmer a bit before, well before making a decision.
