Just turned 28 and feel the exact same way- it's crazy! Used to be die-heart I must live in NYC for the rest of my life and then realized how stressful the city was. The social scene is set around food and drinking and spending money. Now I live in Arizona, have a garden, and love to go hiking all the time. My hobbies revolve around the outdoors and life is so much more peaceful and less stressful.

34! Born and bred in NYC. Moved to the Raleigh area at 31. NYC is electric and has a way of energizing you but too much of an anything isn’t great. My now husband and I were exhausted and frustrated all the time - because the city has a way of also sucking your soul and energy reserves - hence the move. I wouldn’t move back to NYC - I value the peace that NC living has given us. I surely enjoy popping in the city to visit loved ones and get that dose of extra vibrancy, then get back to NC and the trees lol. I certainly attribute age and the overexposure the hustle of NYC for this desire to just slow the things down. Kiddos to you for owning it despite the noise and living authentically how you wish Natalie! Keep shinning!

Your thoughts on wanting to listen to mindless content is v relatable for me rn! I find that as I’ve gotten busier w running my business, I‘ve shifted to watching the silliest cartoons 😭 vs very heavy tv shows. I definitely go through phases w this depending on how stressful other areas of my life are, but I get it for sure!

After living in NY as well, I agree 100%! I genuinely don’t desire to be there unless it’s for a reason and I’m also in & out when I do visit. Striving for a slower & peaceful life is truly the way to go which is anti-NY.
