Thanks for sharing the video, it brought back many happy memories - we also went from Edinburgh to Japan this autumn and visited these 3 places on our trip! Loved Shirakawa-go, unfortunately we only had 1 night in Takayama so didn’t make it to the folk village but did go to the old government offices which were surpirisingly good. We really liked Nagoya. I wish we had gone to the train museum now, looks fab! We did go into the castle, the main building was closed but the grounds and the Hommaru palace are great. We also liked the science museum. Nabano No Sato was quite good with instagram friendly light installations, but a bit far out and wouldn’t really recommend if on a tight schedule. For fans of pottery and/or cats, would definitely recommend a visit to Tokoname town only 45mins by train, a gem and one of the highlights of our whole trip!

It was so wonderful to see japan again, we sadly only got to spend one night in Nagoya on our latest visit but we will definitely stay longer next time. Jo managed to capture some really beautiful shots and I am really happy to see that Simon got a Teddy bear!

I was born and raised in the Kansai region,Japan but I have never visited Gifu prefecture,Japan properly. Takayama and other cities/town around it have become popular among overseas tourists so they will be packed with tourists. maybe less crowded than Kyoto city. Actually Last month I went to Nagoya to see Metal concert as they didn't come to Osaka. Unfortunately I did do sight seeing at all. Have ye visited Gero Onsen? cheers
