There's a lot going on in this episode! First we visit Villa Boheme, they invited me for lunch so that I could show you!
www.villabohemepositano.it
We take a quick look at the vegetable garden while Carlo has to collect the gas canister delivery, a day long job which makes him long for piped gas!
Nicola learns to drive a bigger boat and we all go for a ride.
Book your boat trips with Elisabeth at www.bluestarpositano.it
Then Carlo and I decide to go kayaking and snorkelling and end up having lunch too, at Da Adolfo.

I say it every Sunday. I so look forward to these. In a time when the world is in chaos and despair, it's lovely to have a bit of kindness and pleasantry in the form of a video diary about lovely people in a lovely place. Thank you so much, Nicki. These heartwarming slices of your life help more people than you could ever imagine. I'm not religious in the least but you are indeed doing God's work. Thank you. Be safe and well. Nicki and Carlo, I wanted to say GRAZIE MILLE for sharing your world with us. My husband Gaetano and I (Stephanie) have been mentally freed through your videos. Gaetano and his family are from Grumo near Bari in Puglia. My family is Colombian. We are in NY and have been banned from travelling. During quarantine we lost la nonna and could not return to be with family (non-covid). Times are very sad. Even though NY has done so well with Covid, so much of America decided they didn't care and so here we are stuck. Our plans are to come to Italy as soon as quarantine is lifted for us and we want to find a permanent place there and make Italy home. Puglia is still affordable AND FLAT AND ALSO BEAUTIFUL. But in the meantime, thank you again for the videos. Carlo, thanks for always making us laugh and showing off you ingenuity. And Holly, one day I will see you on the beach and give you a big kiss. Such a lovely little girl. Keep vlogging Nicki. You are keeping many people sane. We appreciate you. Grandi abbracci!

I really relate to your conversation about eventually moving to a location with fewer steps. As you know already, I live in Lunigiana in a hillside borgho in a beautiful house with stairs outside and inside. About 250 stairs I think, so much easier than in Positano haha. As much as I love my house and the view through my windows of the Appenini mountains, my knees are not doing well, and all these stairs just make me feel older than I am. I'm 72 now. Even though my house is renovated etc., it's been on the market 5 years and hasn't sold yet, because in previous years, the economy was nose diving. The price is low now but stranieri aren't coming to Italy much at the moment. Everything you can imagine has been coming against the real estate market in Italy in recent years, and now it's a pandemic. Who would have forseen that? Anyway, I remain hopeful. I'm finding other properties I would like to buy, but of course I need to sell my house first. You guys will have no problem at all selling your home in such a spectacular location. May I suggest you find another beach town in Italy? I love San Terenzo, next to Lerici on the sea (in Liguria). There are lower hills in San Terenzo so you can get property with a sea view, and many house plots are on flat or slightly sloped land. Plus you can drive easily to the local stores and the beaches, and La Spezia of course which has everything. San Terenzo has excellent parking areas as well, with a short walking distance to the beach. I think this area it's one of Italy's best kept "secret gardens", yet not quite as famous as Positano of course. But that's good right? I live about 30 minutes drive away from San Terenzo. I live where I do so I could have easy access to Lerici, San Terenzo and the sea. One last thought for you. If you decide to move, do so before you turn 60-62, For me anway, I noticed the loss of stamina drop dramatically between 60 and 70, and I'm healthy and active. Just aging. Part of life. :-) Nicki, I hope your knee is getting stronger again. Sending my best to you and Carlo from northern Tuscany.

Thanks for the trips around Positano, though I always crave pasta and pizza after watching your lovely videos 😆. Don't worry about the hollyhocks, they never bloom the first year, leave them be and you'll have flowers next year. Maybe an outdoor stanna stairlift and summers on the English Riviera? From sunny Bournemouth, where it's perfect the good six months. As a native Los Angelina, despite living here for 27 years, January to March here kills me. Enjoy the rest of summer 😊

I loved the landscapes of the tours you took: Villa Boheme, beach with Carlo, in short, very pleasant. It's really cool to see how your garden is getting, with fruits, tomatoes and other vegetables, in addition to being healthy to eat what is planted in a sustainable way. Congratulations to Luca and Carlo for taking care so well. I loved seeing that there is a new member in the house, the black cat ... the one who was with him was "is not my cat" ???? It's always nice to see your pets in the videos, so much fun! You are right about your concern for the future and being able to have a home within easy reach. Your house is beautiful, super nice and cozy but as Carlo said so well: it's one thing to be in your 20s and another to be 70, 80! But you are still very young and you have a lot to take advantage of, but it doesn't stop you from thinking and planning, of course! I would like to compliment your clothes, you have great taste with your dresses, skirts, swimwear, very cheerful and jovial! Congratulations!

The thing I love about your vlog is that it's really natural, not contrived or produced to within an inch of it's life. It's just you, documenting your life in an honest and unfussy way. I've tried watching other vloggers in Italy and although the camera work is professional and the images cinematic (not that you've not got some cracking shots especially sunsets) they seem forced and contrived and not at all real. How exciting you get to go home to see your dad, Nicki. We won’t be allowed to fly anywhere, anytime soon. It looks like NZ might be our only possible destination from Australia, whenever that happens. Word is there might eventually be a South Pacific “bubble” that we (including the islands down here) could perhaps have reciprocal visits between. I’m worried I’ll be too old to tackle those stairs again before I can return to Italy, which is a shame as you’ve shown me what I missed on my last visit to Positano . I am so jealous of your life! I have always wanted to see Positano but I have back issues (sciatica) and cannot walk or sit for long times. Flip flops are terrible for the back and ultimately the knees. Since I developed sciatica and other related issues, I cannot wear flip flops or anything with heels.

@@violahamilton782 Thank you so much for your reply. I have been going to a chiropractor for acupuncture for 9 years now. In the early stages, it helped quite a lot. I was able to do zumba which helped but as my degenerated L5 disc worsened, I was not able to zumba. Also in the past year or so I have to admit that the acupuncture and manipulation isn't helping as much. My L5 is almost bone-on-bone and according to my chirpractor, I have the arthritis of an 80 year old in my spine. I do daily stretching exercises and hang on an inversion table. Muggy or damp weather has an adverse effect. I would love it if your suggestion of sports massage would help. I will ask my chiropractor.

My husband tells me that hollyhocks bloom every other year... so you need to plant ones that will bloom the year that yours currently will not... but the ones you have now should bloom in 2021. Don't lose heart. And now the end of your video... we are on such different timezones.. but once again, a fantastic and stellar video. I absolutely love it. Just keep keeping it REAL, because as soon as people smell fake or insincere.. you're toast. You are doing fine!!!

My hollyhocks always flower in the second year, first year they stay small, lots of leafage, then in the second year they head for the skies 👍

Loved the villa you visited an amazing place I’d love to stay there. Tuscany is a beautiful area to live and some parts are not to steep, and you could still visit family in Italy & England.

Another great Sunday video with a hot cup of coffee! I have watched your videos for quite some time. I think to myself (with aging knees), what does one do when the steps become overwhelming? Tough decision- move away from the hometown? Find a place with easier access? Enjoy the world through travel? On to the food shown in the beginning of the video. So many memories eating those dishes! My mouth watered!

Those dresses looked stunning, Nicki! Just beautiful! Thank I think my Dr should write a prescription for a Medical Necessity trip to Positano to heal my foot! Instead of PT, I could just use all of the stairs for exercise!! I guess that’s A stretch. 😂🤣😂 hello to Carlo!!

Stunning visuals...thank you! Wanted to suggest there is a shoe brand named 'Fit Flop' that are super comfortable and shock absorbent. I have been wearing them for years mostly for work (as I stand and do makeup like you). I think they would be great for the step situation and your knee. They feel like walking on a trampoline! Best wishes!
