In this episode follow me as a attend a number fault finding and emergency jobs.
the first job in this episode involves a call out following a leak. I attend to check the electrics to ensure they are safe to be used. I encountered a an issue with an MCB that is very common. I also make safe a lighting point while the property dries out.
I then move on to installing a light fitting in property.
I also went to a food preparation unit in order to change some lights and reconnect a three-phase cable to an isolation switch.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the banjo on the plastic box still getting earth continuity, all that would happen with a metal box is you’ll just be earthing the metal box as well, works the same?

Industrial equipment tech. here. I've done that mistake with the buss bar myself. Trick is to open up all the MCB screws, present the buss bar and check it's correctly positioned. then close only the MCBs at both ends finger tight. Proceed to finger tight all the other terminals while visually inspecting the buss bar legs are in the position and getting clamped. A small dentists mirror comes in handy. Learning a lot from your video content, keeping it real, much appreaciated.

Well done Delroy. With the plastic box, put the earth banjo inside the box and bolt the earth straight on without going through the plastic or use an earth nut, there great for this type of installation!! 👍

@@edh4808 It doesn't have to be, I just prefer them, they're only a few pence more than a SP and I feel they're a little safer. Also you you don't have to worry about accidentally touching the CPC to the neutral conductor and tripping out half the house.

@@ashmanelectricalservices4318 surely the installed switchgear for the heater would make no difference to the RCD tripping given the upstream install of the device? Bang Neutral to Earth anywhere on that installation and that RCD will trip.

Great set of jobs little Thankyou for doing this it would be good to look at a few sockets from different manufacturers to compare engineering design. Folding the wire over gives greater surface area of electrical connection plus filling the recess hole for the conductor to avoid it being terminated without a solid connection. Some designs are gonna be better than others good to get a sparkys view.

Couple of things mate, I would've put a 20A for the radial otherwise it could trip again. Nothing wrong with terminating SWA Earth banjo to plastic enclosure, I remember that's how we were taught in college. I would've tested the incoming & outgoing Voltage to the driver before diagnosing a faulty downlight. Also whenever I get supplies I will always get a box of FCU's or sockets etc. Great video though mate, keep up the good work!

FYI in Australia If the wire in a connector does not occupy at least 80% of that hole, then you have to fatten the wire by bending it over. The reason for this is that, if the wire is too skinny, then the screw might accidentally push the wire to one side instead of squashing it.

I do not see to much wrong with terminating that swa into a pvc switch and I much prefer a pvc isolator than a metal one in that situation, having said that I'm a electrician in Southern Ireland and we always used 5 core swa cable for 3 phase so we would have a separate conductor for earth not relying on the armouring for the earth, not sure if you are using a crimper for them bootlace ferrules if not you should get a Precive bootlace crimper from ebay or amazon they do not cost much and make a very good job of the crimping, I am fairly old and served my time in London in the 1970s and worked with a young guy called Delroy for a while its unlikely to be you because your probably to young but it could be did you ever work for a firm called Elemex a very long time ago.

@@Marco-mg9tv they should not be used in wagos, just use the lever wagos for stranded wire. Ferrules are only recommended for screw terminals where the screw bites directly into the wire. They are unnecessary for the cage clamp terminals as used on MCBs.
