Just told my mum she can’t have the tv for 3 hours and she asked if it was a plant video lol

Loved watching these chores while doing mine. One tip I learned from April at Unsolicited Plant Talks - it’s best not to leave a Hoya vine pointing down when trellising. It won’t put out growth from that point and will instead shoot out new growth at the last point before it starts turning down. However, if you turn it down the trellis and circle/ wrap the end around so it is pointing up again, this tricks the plant and it grows as it should from that vine. I have tested and found this to be true on multiple of my trellised Hoyas. Hope this helps/makes sense!

I just want to say thank you for sharing your bad days, too. I struggle so much with my depression and when you started this video I felt like I wasn't alone. I'm also very glad to see that it passed and you're back in a better place. Thank you. Also, I love your long videos for when I do my nails or work my plants. Lol! It's fun to hang out!

So I fall asleep watching your videos most nights. And I just got up (late day for me) and got my coffee and did my morning check and turn on my grow lights, and I was taking a few pictures of my babies and one of my favorite plants-my Cuprea. I turned the leaf around and it is COVERED in spider mites! Again! And I’m the background I hear you talking about treating for SM and you were like “I need to keep a physical log or something.” Yeah. I’ll be doing that today. 😩

I watched the part where you were very depressed, and just here to say that I appreciate the presence of you as an internet person to be depressed on camera. Because all your thoughts are literally the same for me like I don't have enough motivation, and such. And they made me re-realise that those thoughts are the same, meaning it doesn't derive from my true self but the depression only. Thanks, I really appreciate your video

You mentioned bpd a while ago, like you and your doctor were thinking it’s a potential diagnosis for you. I have bpd and adhd. And I relate a lot to how you describe your struggles. The depressive episodes, the self critique blasts and rage. I think part of why I appreciate this channel is not only your take on a plant hobby but also because I love channels that make me feel less dysfunctional. Hope you are having a good day

The whole talk about your depression I 100% understand. The part when you said you used to have bad anger issues is like me now after having depression, little things that wouldn't usually bother me will send me into a rage like it was the worst thing in the world even though it was just like the bedroom door started to swing back a little when I push it open or something. Depression really does just change your entire mind when you have a bad day/week

It is like you're having my thoughts and feelings. It's so eerily identical to my frustrations with my love for plants. I want to feel good about them every day, but some days I get so depressed that I can't even take care of myself w/o guilt.

Wow your Hoya Obovata looks amazing 🤩 i only have the variegated one and it seems to take ages to grow new leaves maybe variegated plants in general takes longer. Your week to do plants long videos I always wait when i am doing house chores or cooking dinner i watch them or late at night when i am chilling with snacks. Since they are like watching a film. Philodendron White Princess it can also give you pink leaves too. I was told the white parts can get discoloured since cannot photosynthesis only the green parts do. My one is a large plant with larger leaves and have given me pink leaves. I didn’t like the white parts keeps getting discoloured so in the end i sold it. They are high investment plants worth especially if it has pink leaves can sell higher. I am just sticking with Alocasia now but starting to fall out of love with my Dragon Scale and Sinuata cause of the yellowing leaves. Also the Scalprum leaves kinda curl like a taco and gives me some yellowing too even though is being watered regularly not given up on this one since i saw yours fell in love with it.

Hi Charmaine, Thank You for your honesty about how you are feeling, I know it so well. How I think about life and our journey to mental wellbeing is that it's not in a straight line but a circle and so every now and then we revisit those old ways of being. But every time we do visit them we can handle things a little bit better as we have the awareness of how we are feeling. I don't know if this makes sense to you, lol but here's hoping. Thanks for the long video, they are my favourite.

For that pon scoop you love, that looks very much like you could just cut a piece of PVC pipe at an angle and make 2 yourself with one cut! I would bet that the fellas at your preferred hardware store could take care of it for you in a snap, otherwise you can snag a jigsaw at Princess Auto for real cheap and just use some ratcheting bar clamps and cut some yourself if you don't have access to a table saw or band saw. 👍💚

Charmaine do you have a specific video you've already made going into the details of the specs on your favorite strip lights you use in your exo's and cabinets that are a good amount of light without bleaching the foliage? I don't know why but I find picking out lights to be one of the most difficult and confusing parts of being a plant enthusiast and get super confused about the watts and all of that. Curious what's worked best for you and whether you've already got a video that those details are included in before I request one 😅

Y’all really don’t get it. Using “natural” as the literal definition of the word is different from being a part of the natural hair community that black women have built for themselves, by themselves. No one is stopping y’all from using the literal definition of the word natural. But for a white woman to hop on a video where black women are discussing their natural hair movement, it’s wrong to argue semantics and declare you’re “natural too” because it doesn’t mean the same thing in this context. Y’all seem to forget you’re entering a space where black women just want to feel comfortable talking about their own experiences. It’s coming off as “well what about me” - it’s not about you.
